يَوْمٍ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – يَوْمٍ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive

or like the one who passed by a township, and it overturned on its roofs | أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوْشِهَا | |
he said, “how will Allah SWT give life to this after its death?” | قَالَ أَنَّى يُحْيِى هَذِهِ اللهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا | |
so, Allah SWT caused him to die for a hundred years then He raised him | فَأَمَاتَهُ اللهُ مِاْئَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ | |
He said, “How long you remained?” | قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ | |
he said, ” I remained (dead) for a day or part of a day” | قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ | |
he said, “Nay! you remained for a hundred years | قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِاْئَةَ عَامٍ | |
then look at your food and your drink, not a change through time | فَانْظُرْ إِلَى طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ | |
and look at your donkey and let Us (We) make you a sign for the people | وَانْظُرْ إِلَى حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ ءَايَةً لِلنَّاسِ | |
and look to the bones how We raise them then We clothe them with flesh” | وَانْظُرْ إِلَى العِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنْشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوْهَا لَحْمًا | |
then it became clear to him, and he said | فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ قَالَ | |
2-259 | “I know that Allah (SWT) is All-Powerful over everything” | أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ |
“Our Lord! indeed, You are the gatherer of mankind on a day, there is no doubt in it | رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيْهِ | |
3-9 | truly, Allah (SWT) never breaks His promise” | إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ المِيْعَادَ |
then how when We will gather them on a day wherein there is no doubt | فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَاهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيْهِ | |
3-25 | and every soul will be paid in full for what it earned, and they will not be wronged | وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ |
6-15 | Say, “I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of an overwhelming day” | قُلْ إِنِّي أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ |
Certainly, We sent Noah to his people and he said | لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ | |
“O my people! worship Allah (SWT) not for you any god other than Him | يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ إِلَاهٍ غَيْرُهُ | |
7-59 | truly I fear upon you the punishment of a great (severe-dreadful) day | إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ |
Don’t stand in it ever | لَا تَقُمْ فِيْهِ أَبَدًا | |
certainly a place of worship founded on the righteousness from the first day | لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ | |
is more worthy that you stand in it, within it are men who love to purify themselves | أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَقُوْمَ فِيْهِ فِيْهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّوْنَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا | |
9-108 | and Allah (SWT) loves the ones who purify themselves | وَاللهُ يُحِبُّ المُطَّهِّرِيْنَ |
and when Our signs are recited to them as clear proofs | وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ | |
those who do not hope for the meeting with Us say | قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَرْجُوْنَ لِقَآءَنَا | |
“Bring us a Quran other than this or change it” | ائْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ | |
say, “not it is for me that I change it of my own accord | قُلْ مَا يَكُوْنُ لِي أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُ مِنْ تِلْقَآئِ نَفْسِي | |
not I follow except what is revealed to me | إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوْحَى إِلَيَّ | |
10-15 | indeed, I fear if I were to disobey my Lord, a punishment of a great day” | إِنِّي أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ |
