دِيْنِ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – دِيْنِ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive
الدِّيْنُ is the natural state of a definite noun and becomes الدِّيْنِ due to: 1) a preposition that precedes it or 2) a possessed noun that precedes it
الدِّيْنِ loses it’s definite article, becoming دِيْنِ due to it being a possessed noun
To be indebted, profess a faith, give a loan, be honored, be revealed, comply, rebel, serve, possess, judge, reveal, submit, requit

Verse | ||
They ask you about the sacred month, fighting in it | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيْهِ | |
Say: “fighting therein is great (sin) but hindering from the way of Allah (SWT) and disbelief in Him | قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيْهِ كَبِيْرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَكُفْرٌ بِهِ | |
and the sacred mosque and driving out its people from it is greater with Allah (SWT) | وَالمَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِنْدَ اللهِ | |
and oppression is greater than killing” and not they will cease to fight you | وَالفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ القَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُوْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَكُمْ | |
until they turn you away from your religion if they are able | حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا | |
and whoever turn away from among you from his religion then dies while he is a disbeliever | وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ | |
for those, their deeds become worthless in the world and the hereafter | فَأُوْلَآئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ | |
2-217 | and those are the companions of the fire, they will abide in it forever | وَأُوْلَآئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيْهَا خَالِدُوْنَ |
that because they say, “not will the fire touch us but for a number of days” | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُوْدَاتٍ | |
