Surah/ | Below are the 32 verses in the holy Quran consisting of the jussive/accusative verb |
Verse | ||
Did you not see to those, they come forth from their homes |
while they in thousands, in fear of death | وَهُمْ أُلُوْفٌ حَذَرَ المَوْتِ
then Allah (SWT) said to them, “Die” then He gave them life | فَقَالَ لَهُمُ اللهُ مُوْتُوا ثُمَّ أَحْيَاهُمْ
indeed, Allah (SWT) certainly, possesses bounty for mankind | إِنَّ اللهَ لَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ
2-243 | but most of the people are not grateful |
Did not you see to the chiefs from the children of Israel |
from after Moosa (AS) when they said to a prophet of theirs, “Raise for us a king | مِن بَعْدِ مُوْسَى إِذْ قَالُوا لِنَبِيٍّ لَّهُمُ ابْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكًا
we may fight in the way of Allah (SWT)?”
He said, “Would you perhaps, if prescribed for you fighting, that not you fight?” |
they said, “and what for us that not we fight in the way of Allah (SWT) | قَالُوا وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ
while indeed, we have been driven from our homes and our children?”
Yet, when the fighting was prescribed upon them, they turned away |
2-246 | except a few among them and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing of the wrongdoers |
Did not you see to those who argued with Ebrahim (AS) concerning his Lord |
that Allah (SWT) gave him the kingdom?
when Ebrahim (AS) said, “My Lord is He who grants life and causes death” | إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيْمُ رَبِّيَ الَّذِى يُحْيِى وَيُمِيْتُ
he said, “I give life and I cause death” | قَالَ أَنَاْ أُحْيِى وَأُمِيْتُ
Ebrahim (AS) said, “then indeed, Allah (SWT) brings up the sun (comes) from the east | قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيْمُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَأْتِى بِالشَّمْسِ مِنَ المَشْرِقِ
so, you bring it from the west” | فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ المَغْرِبِ
2-258 | so, the one who disbelieved became dumbfounded and Allah (SWT) guides not the wrong-doing people | فَبُهِتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ وَاللهُ لَا يَهْدِى القَوْمَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
Have you not seen to those who were given a portion from the book? |
they are being invited to the book of Allah (SWT) to settle their disputes | يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ
3-23 | then a party among them turn away and they are averse |
Did you not see to those who were given a portion of the book |
4-44 | purchasing error and they wish that you stray from the way | يَشْتَرُوْنَ الضَّلَالَةَ وَيُرِيْدُوْنَ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا السَّبِيْلَ |
did you not see to those who ascribe purity to themselves?
4-49 | nay, Allah (SWT) purifies whom He wishes and not He wrongs even as much as a hair on a date seed |
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the book? |
They believe in the superstition and the false deities, and they say of those who disbelieve |
4-51 | “These are better guided than those who believe in the way” | هَآؤُلآءِ أَهْدَى مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا سَبِيْلًا |
Did you not see to those who claim that they believe |
in what was revealed to you and what was revealed from before you?
They wish to go for judgement to false deities |
and surely, they were ordered to disbelieve (reject) in it | وَقَدْ أُمِرُوا أَنْ يَكْفُرُوا بِهِ
4-60 | and Satan wishes to mislead them a distant misleading |
Did you not see to those, it was said to them, “Restrain your hands | أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ
and establish the prayer and give the obligatory tax?”
then when the fighting was ordained on them | فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ القِتَالُ
behold (suddenly) a group among them fear people like the fear of Allah (SWT) or greater, fear | إِذَا فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً
and they said, “Our Lord! Why You write (prescribe-ordain) for us the fighting?
Why not You delay for us to a near term” |
Say, “Enjoyment of the world is little and the hereafter is better for who fears | قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيْلٌ وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَى
4-77 | and not you will be wronged a hair on a date seed” |
