Most of the words in the Arabic language are derived from a three-letter root like ش ف ع which represents a core meaning or concept

| 2-48 | from him intercession nor will compensation be taken from him, nor will they be helped | مِنْهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ |
| And fear a day when no soul shall avail another in anything nor will compensation be accepted from it | وَاتَّقُوْا يَوْمًا لَّا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ | |
| 2-123 | nor will any intercession benefit it, nor shall they be helped | وَلَا تَنْفَعُهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُوْنَ |
| O you who believe! spend from what We provided you from before that comes a day no bargaining in | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا أَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّنْ قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ | |
| 2-254 | it and no friendship and no intercession and the disbelievers, they are the wrongdoers | لَّا بَيْعٌ فِيْهِ وَلَا خُلَّةٌ وَلَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَالكَافِرُوْنَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُوْنَ |
| Allah (SWT) no God except He, the Living, the Sustainer, not He takes slumber and not sleep | اللهُ لَآ إِلَاهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيُّوْمُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ | |
| belongs to Him whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth who can intercede with Him | لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ | |
| except by His permission? He knows what between their hands and what is behind them | إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ | |
| and not they encompass of anything of His knowledge except of what He wills | وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ | |
| His throne extends to the heavens and the earth | وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ | |
| 2-255 | and not tires Him the protecting of both and He is Most-High, All-Mighty (Most-Great) | وَلَا يَئُوْدُهُ حِفْظُهُهَا وَهُوَ العَلِيُّ العَظِيْمُ |
| Whoever intercedes a good intercession will have for him a share from it | مَّن يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُن لَّهُ نَصِيْبٌ مِّنْهَا | |
| and whoever intercedes a bad intercession will have for him a portion from it | وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَّهُ كِفْلٌ مِّنْهَا | |
| 4-85 | and Allah (SWT) is on everything a keeper | وَكَانَ اللهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقِيْتًا |
| and warn therewith those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord | وَأَنْذِرْ بِهِ الَّذِيْنَ يَخَافُوْنَ أَنْ يُحْشَرُوا إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ | |
| 6-51 | not for them from other than He, a guardian nor an intercessor so that they may become righteous | لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُوْنِهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَفِيْعٌ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ |
| and leave those who take their religion as play and amusement as the life of the world deluded them | وَذَرِ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوا دِيْنَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا | |
| but remind with it lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it earned | وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ | |
| not for it from other than Allah (SWT) a friend (protector) nor an intercessor | لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَفِيعٌ | |
| and if he offers a ransom (justifies) every ransom, not will be taken from it | وَإِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَّا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَآ | |
| those are who are given to destruction for what they earned | أُوْلَآئِكَ الَّذِيْنَ أُبْسِلُوا بِمَا كَسَبُوا | |
| 6-70 | for them a drink of scalding water and a painful torment because they used to disbelieve | لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيْمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيْمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُوْنَ |
| Surely, you came to Us alone like how We created you the first time and you left whatever | وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُوْنَا فُرَادَى كَمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَتَرَكْتُمْ مَّا | |
| We bestowed on you behind your backs and not We see with you your intercessors which | خَوَّلْنَاكُمْ وَرَآءَ ظُهُوْرِكُمْ وَمَا نَرَى مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَآءَكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ | |
| you claimed that they with you partners indeed, it is severed between you and is lost on you | زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيْكُمْ شُرَكَآؤُا لَقَد تَّقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْكُم | |
| 6-94 | what you used to claim | مَّا كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ |
| do they look except for its arrival, the day its arrival comes, those who forgot it from before will say | هَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيْلَهُ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيْلُهُ يَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ نَسُوْهُ مِنْ | |
| “Verily messengers of our Lord came with the truth, so are for us any intercessors that they intercede | قَبْلُ قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِنْ شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا | |
| for us or we are sent back so we will do other than that we used to do” | لَنَآ أَوْ نَرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ | |
| 7-53 | Verily they lost themselves and strayed from them that which they used to invent | قَدْ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُوْنَ |
| Surely, your Lord is Allah (SWT) the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days (periods) | إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ | |
| then He established on the throne disposing the affairs, not from any intercessor except from after | ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى العَرْشِ يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ مَا مِنْ شَفِيْعٍ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ | |
| 10-3 | His permission, that is Allah (SWT) your Lord so worship Him, then will you not remember? | إِذْنِهِ ذَلِكُمُ اللهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوْهُ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوْنَ |
| and they worship from other than Allah (SWT) that which does not harm them and not benefit them | وَيَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنْفَعُهُمْ | |
| and they say, “those are our intercessors with Allah (SWT)” say, “Do you inform Allah (SWT) of what He | وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ هَآؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَآؤُنَا عِنْدَ اللهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّئُوْنَ اللهَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ | |
| 10-18 | knows not in the heavens and not in the earth?” Glorified is He and Exalted above what they associate | فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الأَرْضِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ |
