Surah/Meaningع ي ن
Ayatع ي ن occurs 65 times in the holy Quran
And when Moses asked for water for his peopleوَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَى مُوْسَى لِقَوْمِهِ
We said “Strike the stone with your stick”فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الحَجَرَ
Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springsفَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا
each people knew its own place for waterقَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ
“Eat and drink from the provision of Allah (SWT)كُلُوْاوَاشْرَبُوْا مِنْ رِّزْقِ اللهِ
2-60and do not act corruptly on the earth making mischief”وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِيْنَ
surely, it was for you a sign in the two forces that metقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِي فِئَتَيْنِ الْتَقَتَا
a force fighting in the way of Allah (SWT) and another, disbelieversفِئَةٌ تُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَأُخْرَى كَافِرَةٌ
they were seeing them, twice of them, with the sight of the eyesيَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْيَ العَيْنِ
and Allah (SWT) supports with His help whom He wishesوَاللهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِ مَنْ يَشَآءُ
3-13indeed, in that is surely a lesson for the men of visionإِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُوْلِي الأَبْصَارِ
and We ordained for them in it “a life for a lifeوَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَآ أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ
an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an earوَالعَيْنَ بِالعَيْنِ وَالأَنْفَ بِالأَنْفِ وَالأُذُنَ بِالأُذُنِ
a tooth for a tooth and for wounds is equal retribution”وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ
but whoever pardons it, then it is an expiation for himفَمَنْ تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَهُ
and whoever does not judge by that which Allah (SWT) has revealedوَمَنْ لَّمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَآ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ
5-45then those, they are the wrong-doersفَأُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُوْنَ
And when they listen to what was revealed to the Messengerوَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَآ أُنْزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ
You see their eyes overflowing with tearsتَرَى أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيْضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ
from what they recognize of the truthمِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الحَقِّ
5-83they say, “Our Lord we have believed so, write us among the ones who witness”يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِيْنَ
He said, “Throw” then when they threw, they bewitched (deluded) the eyes of the peopleقَالَ أَلْقُوا فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوا سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ
7-116and terrified them and came with a great magicوَاسْتَرْهَبُوْهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيْمٍ
and We divided them into twelve tribes, communitiesوَقَطَعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا
and We inspired to Moosa (AS) when his people asked him for waterوَأَوْحِيْنَآ إِلَى مُوْسَى إِذِ اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ
that “strike with your stick, the stone”أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الحَجَرَ
then gushed forth from it twelve springs, certainly, each people knew their drinking placesفَانْبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَاعَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ
and We shaded on them with the clouds, and We sent down upon them sweet gum and quailsوَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الغَمَامَ وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ المَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى
“Eat of the good things which We have provided you”كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ
7-160and not they wronged Us but they were doing wrong to (oppressing) themselvesوَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَاكِن كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ
and certainly, We created for hell many from the Jinn and menوَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لَجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ
for them are hearts but not they understand with them and for them are eyes but not they see with themلَهُمْ قُلُوْبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُوْنَ بِهَا
and for them are ears but not they hear with them, those are like cattleوَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُوْنَ بِهَآ أُوْلَآئِكَ كَالأَنْعَامِ
7-179nay! they are more astray, those, they are the heedless onesبَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الغَافِلُوْنَ
Are for them feet, they walk with them or for them hands, they hold (seize) with themأَ لَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُوْنَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُوْنَ بِهَآ
or for them eyes, they see with them or for them ears, they hear with them?أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُوْنَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُوْنَ بِهَا
7-195say, “Invoke your partners then plot against me and do not give me respite”قُلِ ادْعُوا شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيْدُوْنِ فَلَا تُنْظِرُوْنَ
and when He showed them to you when you met in your eyes a fewوَإِذْ يُرِيكَمُوهُمْ إِذِ الْتَقَيْتُمْ فِيْ أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيْلً
and He caused you to seem few in their eyes that Allah (SWT) may accomplish a matter destinedوَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْدِيَ اللهُ أَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُوْلًا
8-44and to Allah (SWT) all matters returnوَإِلَى اللهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُوْرُ
and not on those who when, when they came to you to carry them (mount)وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ إِذَا مَآ أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ
you said, “not I find what to mount you on itقُلْتَ لَآ أَجِدُ مَآ أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ
they turned back with their eyes flowing with tearsتَوَلَّوا وَّأَعْيُنُهُمْ تَفِيْضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ
9-92sorrowful that not they can find what they could spendحَزَنًا أَلَّا يَجِدُوا مَا يُنْفِقُوْنَ
and not I say to you that with me are the treasures of Allah (SWT) and not I know the unseenوَلَآ أَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي خَزَآئِنُ اللهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ الغَيْبَ
and not I say that I am an angel and not I say for those whom your eyes look down uponوَلَآ أَقُوْلُ إِنِّي مَلَكٌ وَلَآ أَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْنَ تَزْدَرِي أَعْيُنُكُمْ
not will Allah (SWT) give them any good, Allah (SWT) knows best of what is in their soulsلَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ اللهُ خَيْرًا اللهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ
11-31indeed, I, then will surely be of the wrongdoersإِنِّي إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ
and construct the ship under our eyes and our inspiration and do not address Meوَاصْنَعِ الفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي
11-37concerning those who wronged, only they are the ones to be drowned”فِي الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُوْنَ

76-6a spring, the slaves of Allah (SWT) will drink from it, they will cause it to gush a gushingعَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللهِ يُفَجِّرُوْنَهَا تَفْجِيْرًا
76-18a spring in it called Salsabilعَيْنًا فِيْهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيْلًا
77-41Verily, the God fearing will be shades and springsإِنَّ المُتَّقِيْنَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُوْنٍ
83-28a spring where from the ones nearest will drinkعَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا المُقَرَّبُوْنَ
88-5They will be given to drink from a boiling hot springتُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ
88-12therein will be a running springفِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ
90-8Did we not make for him a pair of eyes?أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ
102-7Then you will certainly see it with the sight of certaintyثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِيْنِ
