The Broken Plurals

Broken plurals have sound endings, similiar to singular nouns, hence they are difficult to distinguish from singular nouns and the best way to identify broken plurals is through vocabulary.

Broken plurals may be subdivided as follows:

Human broken plurals: are broken plurals representing intelligent beings eg: مَلَآئِكَةُ / رُسُلٌ / عُلَمَآءُ and may be treated as what they really are “they” or “she”

Non-human broken plurals: are broken plurals representing non intelligent beings eg كِلَابٌ / مَسَاجِدُ / كُتُبٌ and these along with all non-human plurals (brokenn or not) are treated as a “she”
