الكِتَابَ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – الكِتَابَ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive
الكِتَابُ is the natural state of this definite noun and becomes الكِتَابَ due to it being the: 1) المَفْعُوْلُ بِهِ object of a verb or 2) اسْمُ of إِنَّ or 3) خَبَرُ of كَانَ or 4) المَفْعُوْلُ فِيْهِ adverb of time or place or 5) المَفْعُوْلُ لَهُ noun that gives the reason for doing a thing or 6) المَفْعُوْلُ مَعَهُ noun that comes after the و which means “along with” or 7) المَفْعُوْلُ المُطْلَقُ is the مَصْدَرٌ of the verb occurring in the sentence or 8) الحَالُ adverb of manner or 9) التَّمْيِيْزُ noun that specifies the meaning of a vague word or 10) المُسْتَثْنَى noun that comes after إِلَّا meaning “except” or 11) المُنَادَى noun of calling or 12) it’s a noun of dependent declension a) نَعْتٌ / صِفَطٌ adjectives b) التَّوْكِيْدُ emphatic c) المَعْطُوْفٌ conjunction d) البَدَلُ synonym

| Do you enjoin piety on the people, and you forget to practice yourself? | أَتَأْمُرُوْنَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنْسَوْنَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ | |
| 2-44 | while you recite the book, have you then no sense? | وَأَنْتُمْ تَتْلُوْنَ الْكِتَابَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ |
| 2-53 | and when We gave Moses the book and the criterion so that you may be guided | وَإِذْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الكِتَابَ وَالفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُوْنَ |
| and among them there are unlettered people who do not understand the book | وَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّيُّوْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ الكِتَابَ | |
| 2-78 | except they trust upon false desires and that they but guess | إِلَّآ أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّوْن |
| so, woe to those who write the book with their own hands | فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ يَكْتُبُوْنَ الكِتَابَ بِأَيْدِيْهِمْ | |
| then they say “this is from Allah (SWT)” to purchase with it a small gain | ثُمَّ يَقُوْلُوْنَ هَذَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ لِيَشْتَرُوْا بِهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيْلً | |
| 2-79 | So, woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn | فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُمْ مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُمْ مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُوْنَ |
| And indeed, We gave Musa the book and followed it with a succession of Messengers | وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الكِتَابَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ | |
| And We gave Isa, son of Mary clear signs and supported him with the Pure Spirit | وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيْسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ البَيِّنَاتِ وَأَيَّدْنَاهُ بِرُوْحِ القُدُسِ | |
| is it that whenever there came to you a messenger with what you yourselves desired not you grew arrogant? | أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَى أَنْفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ | |
| 2-87 | so, some you denied and some you killed | فَفَرِيْقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيْقًا تَقْتُلُوْنَ |
| and when there came to them a Messenger from Allah (SWT) confirming what was with them | وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ | |
| a party of those who were given the book threw away the book of Allah (SWT) | نَبَذَ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوْا الكِتَابَ كِتَابَ اللهِ | |
| 2-101 | behind their backs as if they did not know | وَرَآءَ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
| the Jews said “the Christians are on nothing” | وَقَالَتِ اليَهُوْدُ لَيْسَتِ النَّصَارَى عَلَى شَيْءٍ | |
| and the Christians said “the Jews are on nothing” while they (both) recite the book | وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى لَيْسَتِ اليَهُوْدُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُوْنَ الكِتَابَ | |
| likewise, those who do not know say similar to their sayings | كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ | |
| 2-113 | Allah (SWT) will judge between them on the day of Judgement about that wherein they differ | فَاللهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ |
| those to whom We gave the book recite it as it should be recited, those, they believe in it | الَّذِيْنَ ءَاتَيْنَاهُمُ الكِتَابَ يَتْلُوْنَهُ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِ أُوْلَآئِكَ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهِ | |
| 2-121 | and those who disbelieve in it, they are the losers | وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِهِ فَأُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
| “Our Lord, raise from among them a Messenger who will recite to them Your verses | رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِنْهُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتِكَ | |
| 2-129 | and teach them the book and wisdom and purify them, truly You, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise | وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكِتَابَ وَالحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ العَزِيْزُ الحَكِيْمُ |
| surely, We saw you turn your (SAW) face to the heavens, surely, We shall turn you to a Qibla that will please you | قَدْ نَرَى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَآءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا | |
| so, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque so, wherever you are turn your faces towards it | فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ المَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنْتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوْهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ | |
| and truly those who were given the book certainly know that this is the truth from their Lord | وَإِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوْا الكِتَابَ لَيَعْلَمُوْنَ أَنَّهُ الحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ | |
| 2-144 | and Allah (SWT) is not unaware of what they do | وَمَا اللهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
