عَقَرُوْا
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – عَقَرُوْا is a verb
They hamstrung
To cut, wound, slay, hamstrung, produce no result, be barren.
A verb will either be 1) past tense or 2) present or future tense or 3) a command or request verb, also called an imperative – عَقَرُوْا is a past tense verb

| So, they hamstrung the she-camel and defied the command of their Lord | فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ | |
| and they said, “O Salih (AS) bring us to what you promise us | وَقَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ | |
| 7-77 | if you be from those who are sent (messengers)” | إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ المُرْسَلِيْنَ |
| but they killed her, so he said, “enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days | فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوا فِى دَارِكُم ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ | |
| 11-65 | this is a promise that will not be belied | ذَلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوْبٍ |

| however, they denied him and killed it | فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَعَقَرُوْهَا | |
| 91-14 | so, their Lord destroyed them due to their sin and made them equal in destruction | فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِم رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا |
