هَدَى
A word in the Arabic language will either be: 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – هَدَى is a verb
A verb will either be: 1) past tense or 2) present or future tense or 3) a command or request verb, also called an imperative – هَدَى is a past tense verb
Guided, Directed
To guide, show with kindness the right path (90:10), lead to the right path (29:69) and to make one follow the right path till one reaches the goal (7:43)

| Verse | ||
| And thus, We made you a just nation (middle way) so, you will be witnesses over the people | وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُوْنُوْا شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ | |
| and the Messenger will be a witness over you | وَيَكُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيْدًا | |
| and not did We make the direction of prayer which you were on | وَمَا جَعَلْنَا القِبْلَةَ الَّتِي كُنْتَ عَلَيْهَآ | |
| except to make evident who follows the Messenger from who turns back on his heels | إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُوْلَ مِمَّنْ يَنْقَلِبُ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ | |
| and indeed, it is difficult except for who Allah (SWT) guided | وَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَكَبِيْرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ هَدَى اللهُ | |
| and not will Allah (SWT) let your faith go to waste | وَمَا كَانَ اللهُ لِيُضِيْعَ إِيْمَانَكُمْ | |
| 2-143 | truly Allah (SWT) is to the people Kind and Merciful | إِنَّ اللهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوْفٌ رَّحِيْمٌ |
| The month of Ramadan is that wherein the Quran was revealed | شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيْهِ القُرْءَانَ | |
| a guidance for the people with clear proofs of guidance and the criterion | هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الهُدَى وَالفُرْقَانِ | |
| so, whoever among you witnesses the month then let him fast in it | فَمَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ | |
| and whoever is ill or on a journey then an equal number from other days | وَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيْضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ | |
| Allah (SWT) wishes for you ease and He does not wish for you any hardship | يُرِيْدُ اللهُ بِكُمُ اليُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيْدُ بِكُمُ العُسْرَ | |
| so that you may complete the prescribed period and that you magnify Allah (SWT) | وَلِتُكْمِلُوْا العِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوْا اللهَ | |
| 2-185 | for having guided you so that you may be grateful | عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ |
| There is no sin on you that you seek the bounty from your Lord | لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ | |
| so, when you depart from Arafat | فَإِذَآ أَفَضْتُمْ مِّنْ عَرَفَاتٍ | |
| remember Allah (SWT) near the sacred monument (Muzdalifah) | فَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ عِنْدَ المَشْعَرِ الحَرَامِ | |
| and remember Him as He has guided you | وَاذْكُرُوهُ كَمَا هَدَاكُمْ | |
| 2-198 | seeing that you were before of those who were astray | وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِهِ لَمِنَ الضَّآلِّيْنَ |
| Mankind was one community and Allah (SWT) raised up prophets | كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ اللهُ النَّبِيِّينَ | |
| bearing glad tidings and as warner’s and He sent down with them the Book in truth | مُبَشِّرِيْنَ وَمُنْذِرِيْنَ وَأَنْزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الكِتَابَ بِالحَقِّ | |
| to judge between people in matters wherein they differed | لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ | |
| and no one differed in it except those who were given it after clear signs came to them | وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ أُوتُوهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ البَيِّنَاتُ | |
| out of jealousy among themselves and Allah (SWT) guided those who believed | بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ فَهَدَى اللهُ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا | |
| from what they differed in it to the truth by His Permission | لِمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ مِنَ الحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ | |
| 2-213 | and Allah (SWT) guides whom He wishes to the straight path | وَاللهُ يَهْدِى مَنْ يشَآءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ |
| Say, “Should we call from other than Allah (SWT) who cannot benefit us nor harm us | قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا | |
| and we turn back on our heels after that Allah (SWT) guided us | وَنُرَدُّ عَلَى أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَانَا اللهُ | |
| like the one who the devils enticed him in the earth into confusion | كَالَّذِيْ اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاطِيْنُ فِي الأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ | |
| He has companions, they call him to the guidance, “Come to us” | لَهُ أَصْحَابٌ يَدْعُوْنَهُ إِلَى الهُدَى ائْتِنَا | |
| Say, “Truly the guidance of Allah (SWT), It is the guidance | قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللهِ هُوَ الهُدَى | |
| 6-71 | and we’ve been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds | وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
| and his people argued with him, he said, “Do you argue with me concerning Allah (SWT) while certainly | وَحَآجَّهُ قَوْمُهُ قَالَ أَتُحَآجُّونِّي فِي اللهِ وَقَدْ | |
| He has guided me?” and not I fear what you associate with Him except that my Lord wills anything | هَدَانِ وَلَآ أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُوْنَ بِهِ إِلَّآ أَنْ يَشَآءَ رَبِّي شَيْئًا | |
| 6-80 | my Lord encompasses everything in knowledge, will you then not take heed (remember)?” | وَسِعَ رَبِّي كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ |
| Those whom Allah (SWT) guided then of their guidance, follow | أُوْلَآئِكَ الَّذِيْنَ هَدَى اللهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ | |
| 6-90 | Say, “not I ask you for it a reward, not it is but a reminder to the worlds” | قُلْ لَّآ أَسْئَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْعَالَمِيْنَ |
