Part 30 / Chapter 80Chapter 80 / عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُوْنَ

He frowned and turned away1عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى
when the blind man came to him2أَنْ جَآءَهُ الأَعْمَى
and how will you know that hopefully he might purify himself3وَمَا يُدْرِيْكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى
or be reminded so the reminder would benefit him4أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى
as for who thinks himself self-sufficient (free from need)5أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى
to him you attend6فَأَنْتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى
although you are not responsible that he does not purify himself7وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى
as for who came to you striving (for knowledge)8وَأَمَّا مَنْ جَآءَكَ يَسْعَى
while he is in fear (awe of Allah SWT)9وَهُوَ يَخْشَى
from him you were distracted10فَأَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى
Nay! truly it is a reminder11كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ
so, whosoever wills, he remembers it12فَمَنْ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُ
in honored pages13فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ
exalted, purified14مَّرْفُوْعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ
in the hands of scribes15بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ
noble, dutiful16كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
man is killed (destroyed), how ungrateful is he!17قُتِلَ الإِنْسَانُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُ
from what thing He created him18مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
from a semen-drop He created him, then He proportioned him19مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
then He made the way easy for him (natural)20ثُمَّ السَّبِيْلَ يَسَّرَهُ
then He causes him to die, then He provides for him a grave21ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ
then when He wills, He will resurrect him22ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنْشَرَهُ
Nay! not yet has he accomplished what He has commanded him23كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُ
so let man look at his food24فَلْيَنْظُرِ الإِنْسَانُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ
that We poured the water with a pouring25أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا المَآءَ صَبًّا
then We split the earth with a splitting26ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الأَرْضَ شَقًّا
then We caused grain to grow in it27فَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيْهَا حَبًّا
and grapes and greens28وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا
and olives and date palms29وَزَيْتُوْنًا وَنَخْلًا
and gardens of thick foliage30وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبًا
and fruit and grass31وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًا
a provision for you and your cattle32مَتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
but when the deafening blast comes33فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ الصَّآخَّةُ
the day when man will flee from his brother34يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ المَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيْهِ
and his mother and his father35وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيْهِ
and his companion (wife) and his children36وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيْهِ
for every man among them that day, a matter causing him to be totally occupied37لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَانٌ يُغْنِيْهِ
(some) faces that day will be bright38وُجُوْهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
laughing, rejoicing at good news39ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
and (other) faces that day, on them dust40وَوُجُوْهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
darkness will cover them41تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
Those, they are the ungrateful (disbelievers), the wicked42أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الكَفَرَةُ الفَجَرَةُ
