2-139 | So, for us our deeds and for you your deeds and we are sincere to Him | وَلَنَآ أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُخْلِصُوْنَ |
Do you say that Ebrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) and Ishaq (AS) and Yaqub (AS) | أَمْ تَقُوْلُوْنَ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيْلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ
and the descendants were Jews or Christians?

2-140 | and Allah (SWT) is not unaware of what you do | وَمَا اللهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُوْنَ |
The fools among the people will say, |
“What has turned them from their prayer direction which they used to face” |
Say “To Allah (SWT) belongs the east and the west | قُلْ لِلَّهِ المَشْرِقُ وَالمَغْرِبُ
2-142 | He guides whom He wills to the Straight Path” |
They ask you about the new moons, say these are indicators of periods for the people | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الأَهِلَّةِ قُلْ هِيَ مَوَاقِيْتُ لِلنَّاسِ
and the pilgrimage and it is not piety to enter the houses from the back | وَالحَجِّ وَلَيْسَ البِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوْا البُيُوْتَ مِنْ ظُهُوْرِهَا
but piety is who fears (Allah SWT) so, enter the houses through their proper doors | وَلَاكِنَّ البِرَّ مَنِ اتَّقَى وَأْتُوْا البُيُوْتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا
2-189 | and be mindful of Allah (SWT) so that you may be successful |
They ask you, what they should spend? Say whatever you spend of good | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُوْنَ قُلْ مَآ أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِّنْ خَيْرٍ
must be for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the one who asks | فَلِلْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالأَقْرَبِيْنَ وَاليَتَامَى وَالمَسَاكِيْنِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيْلِ
2-215 | and whatever you do of good truly Allah (SWT) knows it well | وَمَا تَفْعَلُوْا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللهَ بِهِ عَلِيْمٌ |
They ask you about the sacred month, fighting in it | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيْهِ
Say, “fighting therein is great (sin) but hindering from the way of Allah (SWT) and disbelief in Him | قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيْهِ كَبِيْرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَكُفْرٌ بِهِ
and the sacred mosque and driving out its people from it is greater with Allah (SWT) | وَالمَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِنْدَ اللهِ
and oppression is greater than killing” and not they will cease to fight you | وَالفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ القَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُوْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَكُمْ
until they turn you away from your religion if they are able | حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا
and whoever turn away from among you from his religion then dies while he is a disbeliever | وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ
for those, their deeds become worthless in the world and the hereafter | فَأُوْلَآئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
2-217 | and those are the companions of the fire, they will abide in it forever |
They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance say, “in both of them is a great sin | يَسْئَلُنَكَ عَنِ الخَمْرِ وَالمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيْهِمَآ إِثْمٌ كَبِيْرٌ
and some benefits for the people but the sin of both of them is greater than the benefit of both” | وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَآ أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا
and they ask you about what they should spend say, “the surplus” | وَيَسْئَلُوْنَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُوْنَ قُلِ العَفْوَ
2-219 | thus Allah (SWT) makes clear to you the verses so that you may ponder (reflect) |
concerning the world and the hereafter and they ask you about the orphans | فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَيَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ اليَتَامَى
say, “setting right for them is good and if you associate with them then they are your brothers | قُلْ إِصْلَاحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِنْ تُخَالِطُوْهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ
and Allah (SWT) knows the corrupter from the amender and if Allah (SWT) willed | وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ المُفْسِدَ مِنَ المُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ اللهُ
2-220 | surely, He could have put you in difficulties truly, Allah (SWT) is All-Mighty, All-Wise |
and they ask you about the menstruation say, “it is a hurt so keep away from the women | وَيَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ المَحِيْضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَآءَ
during the menstruation and do not approach them until they are pure then when they are purified | فِي المَحِيْضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوْهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ
then come to them from where Allah (SWT) has ordered you” | فَأْتُوْهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللهُ
2-222 | indeed, Allah (SWT) loves the ones who turn in repentance, and He loves those who purify themselves |
3-12 | say, to those who disbelieve, “you will be defeated, and you will be gathered to Hell, an evil resting place” | قُل لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُوْنَ وَتُحْشَرُوْنَ إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ المِهَادُ |
Say, “shall I inform you of better than those? for those who feared (mindful and conscious of Allah SWT) | قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَلِكُمْ لِلَّذِيْنَ اتَّقُوا
gardens with their Lord, rivers flowing under it, abiding forever in it | عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا
3-15 | and pure spouses and approval from Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is All-Seeing of the worshipper” |
so, if they argue (dispute) with you say, “I have submitted myself to Allah (SWT) and whoever follows me” | فَإِنْ حَاجُّوْكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِ
and say to those who were given the book and the unlettered, “do you submit?”
then if they submit then they are surely guided and if they turn away (back) then only on you is to deliver (convey) | فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا فَقَدِ اهْتَدَوا وَّإِنْ تَوَلَّوا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ البَلَاغُ
3-20 | and Allah (SWT) is All-Seer of His slaves |
3-26 | 1 | |
Say, “If you conceal what is in your breasts or you reveal it Allah (SWT) knows it | قُلْ إِنْ تُخْفُوا مَا فِي صُدُوْرِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوْهُ يَعْلَمْهُ اللهُ
and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth | وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ
3-29 | and Allah (SWT) is over everything, All-Powerful” |
Say, “If you were to love Allah (SWT) then follow me Allah (SWT) will love you and forgive for you your sins” | قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّوْنَ اللهَ فَاتَّبِعُوْنِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْ
3-31 | and Allah (SWT) is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful |
