حَتَّى حَرْفُ الجَرِّ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – حَتَّى حَرْفُ الجَرِّ is a particle
This particle is used in four different ways:
1) As a preposition to indicate a certain term (To, till, until, up to) and when thus employed governs the genitive case.
2) As a conjunction or adverb meaning And, Even, Up to an extreme point inclusive, thus it differs from إِلَى which signifies up to; as far as but not including.
3) As a conjunction serving to connect a preposition with that which precedes it. Then it means: Until and has grammatically no effect on the succeeding preposition.
4) It governs a verb in the subjunctive mood. When that verb has a future signification, it then means: Until; In order that. It may sometimes bear either interpretation
Below you will find verses of the holy Quran containing the particle حَتَّى حَرْفُ الجَرِّ with Arabic text and English translation

| and from these two they learn to cause separation with it, between man and his wife | فَيَتَعَلَّمُوْنَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُوْنَ بِهِ بَيْنَ المَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ | |
| but they do not harm anyone with it except by the permission of Allah (SWT) | وَمَا هُمْ بِضَآرِّيْنَ بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ | |

| 2-102 | and wretched is that, for which they sold themselves, if only they knew | وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا بِهِ أَنْفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوْا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |

| Say the guidance of Allah (SWT), it is the guidance and if you follow their desires after what | قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللهِ هُوَ الهُدى وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ بَعْدَ الَّذِي | |
| 2-120 | has come to you of knowledge there will be no friend or helper for you against Allah (SWT) | جَآءَكَ مِنَ العِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيْرٍ |
| It is permitted for you on the nights of fasting to approach your wives | أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ لَيْلَةَ الصِّيَامِ الرَّفَثُ إِلَى نِسَآئِكُمْ | |

| so now have relations with them and seek what Allah (SWT) has ordained for you | فَالْئَانَ بَاشِرُوْهُنَّ وَابْتَغُوْا مَا كَتَبَ اللهُ لَكُمْ | |
| so, eat and drink until until the white thread appears distinct to you | وَكُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ | |

| These are the limits set by Allah (SWT) so do not approach them | تِلْكَ حُدُوْدُ اللهِ فَلَا تَقْرَبُوهَا | |

| as oppression is worse than killing | وَالفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ القَتْلِ | |
| and do not fight them in the Sacred Mosque until they fight you in it | وَلَا تُقَاتِلُوهُمْ عِنْدَ المَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِيْهِ | |

| and fight them until there is no more oppression and there be the religion of Allah (SWT) | وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّيْنُ لِلَّهِ | |
| 2-193 | but if they cease then let there be no hostility except against the oppressors | فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَلَا عُدْوَانَ إِلَّا عَلَى الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
| and perform the pilgrimage and minor pilgrimage for Allah (SWT) but if you are held back then what can be obtained with ease of a sacrifice | وَأَتِمُّوا الحَجَّ وَالعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ فَإِنْ أُحْصِرْتُمْ فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الهَدْيِ | |
| and do not shave your heads until the sacrifice reaches its destination | وَلَا تَحْلِقُوْا رُءُوْسَكُمْ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الهَدْيُ مَحِلَّهُ | |
| and whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment of his head then compensate by fasting | فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيْضًا أَوْ بِهِ أَذًى مِّنْ رَّاسِهِ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِّنْ صِيَامٍ | |
| or charity or a sacrificial offering then when you are safe then whoever performs the minor pilgrimage followed by Hajj | أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ فَإِذَآ أَمِنْتُمْ فَمَنْ تَمَتَّعَ بِالعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الحَجَّ | |
| then what can be obtained with ease of a sacrificial animal and who cannot find then a fast of three days during Hajj | فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الهَدْيِ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَيَّامٍ فِى الحَجِّ | |
| and seven days when you returned (home) that is ten (days) in all | وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ تِلْكَ عَشْرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ | |

| 2-196 | and be mindful of Allah (SWT) and know that Allah (SWT) is severe in punishment | وَاتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
