Hajj
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful | بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ |
Ali Al-Azdi (RA) narrated that Ibn Umar (RA) taught them that when the Prophet (SAW) of Allah (SWT) | أَنَّ عَلِيًّا الْأَزْدِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَلَّمَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُ كَانَ إِذَا |
mounted his camel and set out on a journey, he would say the takbir three times, then say, “Glory be to who | اسْتَوَى عَلَى بَعِيْرِهِ خَارِجًا إِلَى سَفَرٍ كَبَّرَ ثَلَاثَتًا قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي |
has placed this at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that and to our Lord is our final | سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِيْنَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ |
destiny. O Allah (SWT) we ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey of ours and we ask You for deeds | اللَّهُمَّ نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا البِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَمِنَ العَمَلِ |
which please You. O Allah (SWT) make our journey easy and let us cover its distance quickly. O Allah (SWT) You | مَا تَرْضَى اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ |
are the companion on the journey and the Successor over the family. O Allah (SWT) I seek refuge with You from | الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالخَلِيْفَةُ فِي الأَهْلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ |
difficulties of travel, from becoming distressed and an ill-fated outcome in wealth and family” and when | وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ المَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ المُنْقَلَبِ فِي المَالِ وَالأَهْلِ وَإِذَا |
he returned, he said the same and added “returning, repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord” | رَجَعَ قَالَهُنَّ وَزَادَ فِيهِنَّ آئِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُوْنَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُوْنَ |

when the Prophet (SAW) set out for hajj or any other purpose
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful | بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ | |
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Prophet (SAW) said, “When the ten (days of Dhul-Hijjah) | يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُ قَالَ | |
“When the ten (days of Dhul-Hijjah) begin and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let nothing touch his hair or skin” | إِذَا دَخَلَتِ العَشْرُ وَأَرَادَ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ فَلَا يَمَسَّ | |
from his hair or skin” | مِنْ شَعَرِهِ وَبَشَرِهِ شَيْئًا | |
It was said to Sufyan “Some of them do not attribute it to Prophet (SAW) he said, but I attribute it to him” | قِيْلَ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ بَعْدَهُمْ لَا يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ لَكِنِّي أَرْفَعُهُ | |

It is forbidden to remove anything from his hair and nails in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah for one who intends to offer a sacrifice
