Chapter 17
Chapter 17 of the holy Quran with full Arabic text and English translation (Surah Al-Isra – سُوْرَةُ الإِسْرَآءِ – The night journey)
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ
| Part 15 / Chapter 17 | Chapter 17 / سُبْحَانَ الَّذِى أَسْرَى بِعَبْدِهِ | |
| Glorified (Exalted) is He who took His slave at night from the sacred mosque | سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِّنَ المَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ | |
| to the farthest mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him our signs | إِلَى المَسْجِدِ الأَقْصَا الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ ءَايَاتِنَآ | |
| Indeed He, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer | 1 | إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ البَصِيْرُ |
| and lower to them both the wing of humility out of mercy | وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ | |
| and say “my Lord have mercy on them both as they brought me up from young | 24 | وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيْرًا |
| and say to my servants to say what is best | وَقُل لِّعِبَادِي يَقُوْلُواْ الَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ | |
| truly Satan sows discord among them | إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْزَغُ بَيْنَهُم | |
| indeed Satan is to man an open enemy | 53 | إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلْإِنْسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِيْنًا |
| and when We bestow favor on man, he turns away and becomes remote (distant) | وَإِذَآ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الإِنْسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَئَا بِجَانِبِهِ | |
| however when evil touches him he is in dfespair | 83 | وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَئُوسًا |

| say, “believe in it or do not believe, verily those who were given knowledge before it | قُلْ ءَامِنُوا بِهِ أَوْ لَا تُؤْمِنُوا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا العِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهِ | |
| when it is recited to them, they fall on their faces in prostration | 107 | إِذَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْهِم يَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ سُجَّدًا |

| Say “invoke Allah SWT or invoke the Most Gracious | قُلِ ادْعُوا اللهَ أَوِ ادْعُوا الرَّحْمَانَ | |
| by whatever name you invoke Him, for Him belong the Best Names | أَيَّا مَّا تَدْعُوا فَلُهُ الأَسْمَآءُ الحُسْنَى | |
| and don’t offer your prayer aloud nor in a low voice | وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا | |
| but follow a way between | 110 | وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَالِكَ سَبِيْلًا |
| and say, “All the praises and thanks belong to Allah (SWT) who has not begotten a son and not is for Him a partner | وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِى لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيْكٌ | |
| in the creation and not is for Him a protector out of need and magnify Him with all due magnificence | 111 | فِى المُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ وَلِيٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا |
