Chapter 29
Chapter 29 of the holy Quran with full Arabic text and English translation (Surah Al-Ankabut – سُوْرَةُ العَنْكَبُوْتِ – The spider)
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ
| Part 20 / Chapter 29 | Chapter 29 / فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ | |
| Alif-Laam-Meem | 1 | ا ل م |
| Do the people think that they will be left if they say “We believe” | أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُوْلُوا ءَامَنَّا | |
| and they will not be tested? | 2 | وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُوْنَ |
| who hopes in meeting Allah SWT, then indeed Allah SWT’s term is coming | مَن كَانَ يَرْجُواْ لِقَآءَ اللهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللهِ لَأَتٍ | |
| and He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing | 5 | وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ العَلِيْمُ |
| so Lut (AS) believed him and said ‘truly I am a traveler to my Lord | فَئَامَنَ لَهُ لُوْطٌ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَى رَبِّي | |
| indeed He is the All Mighty, the All Wise | 26 | إِنَّهُ هُوَ العَزِيْزُ الحَكِيْمُ |
| indeed Allah SWT knows what thing they call upon other than Him | إِنَّ اللهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُوْنَ مِن دُوْنِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ | |
| and He is the All Mighty, the All Wise | 42 | وَهُوَ العَزِيْزُ الحَكِيْمُ |
| recite what has been revealed to you of the book and establish the prayer | اتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ | |
| verily, the prayer prevents from great sins and disbelief | إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الفَحْشَآءِ وَالمُنْكَرِ | |
| and indeed, the remembrance of Allah (SWT) is the greatest and Allah (SWT) knows what you do | 45 | وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُوْنَ |
| Part 21 / Chapter 29 | Chapter 29 / وَلَا تُجَادِلُوآ أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ | |
| and do not argue with the people of the book unless it be in the best way | وَلَا تُجَادِلُوآ أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ | |
| except with such among them who do wrong and say, “we believe in what has been revealed to us | إِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ وَقُوْلُوا ءَامَنَّا بِالَّذِى أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا | |
| and revealed to you and our God and your God is One and we submit to Him | 46 | وَأُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَاهُنَا وَإِلَاهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُوْنَ |
| the day the punishment will cover them from above them and from under their feet | يَوْمَ يَغْشَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ | |
| and He will say ‘taste what you used to do’ | 55 | وَيَقُوْلُ ذُوْقُوْا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
| and how many a creature carries not its sustenance, Allah SWT sustains them | وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَآبَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللهُ يَرْزُقُهَا | |
| and you, He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing | 60 | وَإِيَّاكُم وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ العَلِيْمُ |
| 68 | ||
| and those who strive in Us, We will surely guide them to Our path | وَالَّذِيْنَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا | |
| and verily, Allah (SWT) is with the good doers | 69 | وَإِنَّ اللهَ لَمَعَ المُحْسِنِيْنَ |
