Part 8 / Chapter 7 | Ch 7 | Chapter 7 /
Verse | ||
Alif Laam Meem Saad | 1 | ا ل م ص |
a book sent down to you, so be not in your chest uneasiness with it | كِتَابٌ أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُنْ فِي صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ
to warn with it and a reminder for the believers | 2 | لِيُنْذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord |
and follow not an ally other than He, little what you remember | 3 | وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِنْ دُوْنِهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ قَلِيْلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُوْنَ |
and how many of a city We destroyed it, and came to it Our punishment at night, or while resting at midday | 4 | وَكَم مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُوْنَ |
then not was their plea when came to them Our punishment except they said, “truly we were wrongdoers” | 5 | فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَنْ قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِيْنَ |
Then indeed, We will ask those who were sent to them and surely, We will question the messengers | 6 |
Then surely, We will narrate to them with knowledge, and not We were absent | 7 |
and the weighing that day will be the truth so, whose scale is heavy then those will be the successful ones | 8 | وَالوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الحَقُّ فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِيْنُهُ فَأُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ المُفْلِحُوِنَ |
and whose scales are light then those are who lost themselves | وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِيْنُهُ فَأُوْلَآئِكَ الَّذِيْنَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ
because they were with our verses, unjust (wrong) | 9 | بِمَا كَانُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا يَظْلِمُوْنَ |
and indeed, We established you on the earth and We made for you in it, livelihood, little you are grateful | 10 | وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَعَايِشَ قَلِيْلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُوْنَ |
and surely, We created you then We fashioned you then We said to the angels, “prostrate to Adam (AS)” | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَآئِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ
so, they prostrated except Iblis, not he was of those who prostrated | 11 | فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّآ إِبْلِيْسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِّنَ السَّاجِدِيْنَ |
He said, “what prevented you that not you prostrate when I commanded you?”
He said, “I am better than him, You created me from fire and You created him from clay” | 12 |
He said, “Then go down (descend) from it, for it is not becoming of you, that you be arrogant in it (your rank) | قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُوْنُ لَكَ أَنْ تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيْهَا
so, get out! truly you are of the disgraced (humiliated-made small) ones” | 13 | فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِيْنَ |
He said, “Give (wait) me respite (time) till the day in which they will be raised up” | 14 | قَالَ أَنْظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ |
He said, “Truly you are among those who have been respited (punishment is to be delayed)” | 15 |
He said, “because You have sent me astray surely, I will sit waiting for them on your straight path | 16 | قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ المُسْتَقِيْمَ |
then surely, I will come to them from between their hands and from behind them | ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُم مِّنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ
and from their right and from their left and not You will find most of them grateful” | 17 | وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَآئِلِهِمْ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِيْنَ |
He said, “Get out from it disgraced and expelled | قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُوْمًا مَّدْحُوْرًا
certainly, whoever follows you among them, I will surely fill hell with you all | 18 | لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكُمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ |
and O Adam! dwell you and your wife in Paradise and eat you both from wherever you both wish | وَيَآ أَدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنْتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا
and don’t you both come close to this tree lest you both be among the wrongdoers” | 19 | وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُوْنَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
Then Satan whispered to them both to make apparent to them both what was concealed from both of them | فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانَ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُوْرِيَ عَنْهُمَا
of their shame and he said, “not your Lord prevented you both from this tree | مِنْ سَوْءَاتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ
except that you two become angels or you two become of the immortals” | 20 | إِلَّآ أَنْ تَكُوْنَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُوْنَا مِنَ الخَالِدِيْنَ |
and he swore to both of them, “indeed, I am to both of you certainly among the sincere advisors” | 21 | وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِيْنَ |
so, he directed both of them by deception then when they both tasted the tree | فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُوْرٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ
their shame became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise | بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَاتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الجَنَّةِ
and their Lord called them both, “Did not I forbid you both from this tree | وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ
and I say to you both surely Satan is to both of you an open enemy?”
Both of them said, “Our Lord! we have wronged ourselves and if You do not forgive us and show us mercy | قَالَا رَبَّنَأ ظَلَمْنَآ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَّمْ تَغْفِرْلَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا
indeed, we will certainly be from the ones who lose | 23 | لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الخَاسِرِيْنَ |
He said “Descend you all, some of you enemy to others | قَالَ اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ
and for you in the earth, a dwelling place and a provision for a time” | 24 | وَلَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِيْنٍ |
He said, “In it you will live and in it you will die and from it you will be brought forth” | 25 |
O children of Adam! “Verily We sent down to you clothing, it covers your shame and an adornment” |
but the clothing of righteousness, that is best | وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَى ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ
that is from the verses of Allah (SWT) so that they may remember | 26 | ذَلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَاتِ اللهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُوْنَ |
O children of Adam! let not Satan tempt you like how he drove out your parents from Paradise |
removing from them both, their clothing to expose their shame | يَنْزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْئَاتِهِمَا
Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe from where not you see them | إِنَّهُ يَرَاكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيْلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ
truly We made the devils friends of those who don’t believe | 27 | إِنَّ جَعَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِيْنَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
and when they do immorality they say, “We found upon it, our forefathers | وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا
and Allah (SWT) ordered us upon it” Say, “Indeed Allah (SWT) does not order to immorality | وَاللهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالفَحْشَآءِ
Do you say about Allah (SWT) what you know not?”
Say, “My Lord has commanded to justice and establish your faces towards every place of prostration | قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالقِسْطِ وَأَقِيْمُوا وُجُوْهَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
and invoke Him, sincere to Him in the religion, like how He originated you, you will return | 29 | وَادْعُوْهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُوْدُوْنَ |
A group He guided and a group, justified upon them, misguidance (error) |
Surely, they took the devils as friends from besides Allah (SWT) while they think that they are guided | 30 | إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِيْنَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ وَيَحْسَبُوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ مُّهْتَدُوْنَ |
O children of Adam! take your adornment to every place of prostration |
and eat and drink but don’t exceed truly, Allah (SWT) does not love the extravagant ones | 31 | وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ المُسْرِفِيْنَ |
Say, “Who forbade the adornment of Allah (SWT) which He brought forth for His slaves | قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِيْنَةَ اللهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ
and the wholesome (pure things) sustenance?”
Say, “It is for those who believe in the life of the world exclusively on the day of resurrection | قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا فِي الحَيَاتِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ
like that We explain the signs for a people who know” | 32 | كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
Say, “Only my Lord forbade immorality, what is apparent of it and what is concealed | قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ
and the sin and the oppression without right and that you associate with Allah (SWT) what not He sent down | وَالإِثْمَ وَالبَغْيَ بِغَيْرِ الحَقِّ وَأَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بِاللهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ
for it any authority, and that you say about Allah (SWT) what you know not | 33 | بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَنْ تَقُوْلُوا عَلَى اللهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
and for every nation is a term so when their term comes not can they delay it an hour nor advance it | 34 | وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ اَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ |
O children of Adam! If comes to you messengers from among you narrating to you My verses |
then whoever fears and corrects then no fear upon them and not will they grieve | 35 | فَمَنِ اتَّقَى وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَ |
and those who deny Our signs and are arrogant towards them | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَآ
those are the companions of the fire; they will abide in it forever | 36 | أُوْلَآئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيْهَا خَالِدُوْنَ |
Then who is more unjust (oppressive-wrong) than who invented a lie against Allah (SWT) or denied His signs |
those, their portion (allotment) from the book will reach them | أُوْلَآئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيْبُهُمْ مِّنَ الكِتَابِ
until when comes to them Our messengers to take their souls | حَتَّى إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ
they say, “Where are those whom you used to call (invoke) other than Allah (SWT)?”
they say, “They strayed (left) from us?” thus they will testify against their selves that they were disbelievers | 37 | قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِيْنَ |
He says, “Enter among the nations who indeed, passed away from before you from the Jinn and Man into the | قَالَ ادْخُلُوا فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ مِّنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ فِي النَّارِ
fire” every time a nation entered it cursed its sister until when they have all overtaken one another in it | كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا حَتَّى إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيْهَا جَمِيْعًا
the last of them will say about the first of them, “Our Lord, these misled us so give them double punishment | قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُوْلَاهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَآؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّوْنَا فَئَاتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا
from the fire, He will say, “For each is a double but not you know” | 38 | مِّنَ النَّارِ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَاكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
The first of them say to the last of them, “Then not is for you over us any bounty (superiority-benefit) | وَقَالَتْ أُوْلَاهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ
so, taste the punishment for what you used to earn” | 39 | فَذُوْقُوا العَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُوْنَ |
Truly those who denied our signs and were arrogant towards them | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا
not be opened for them the doors of heaven and not they will enter Paradise | لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُوْنَ الجَنَّةَ
until the camel passes through the eye of a needle and thus, We recompense the criminals | 40 | حَتَّى يَلِجَ الجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الخِيَاطِ وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُجْرِمِيْنَ |
For them from hell is a bed and from over them coverings thus We recompense the wrong doers | 41 |
and those who believe and do righteous deeds, not We burden any soul except its capacity | وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ
those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein forever | 42 | أُوْلَآئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيْهَا خَالِدُوْنَ |
And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of malice, flows from underneath them, rivers |
and they say, “All praise and thanks belong to Allah (SWT) Who guided us to this or else, not we be guided | وَقَالُوا الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ
If not that Allah (SWT) guided us, certainly, without a doubt, Messengers of our Lord came with the truth” |
and they will be addressed that “This is Paradise, you have been made to inherit it for what you used to do” | 43 | وَنُوْدُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الجَنَّةُ أَوْرِثْتُمُوْهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ |
and the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the fire that | وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَنْ
“Indeed, we found what our Lord promised us true so, have you found what your Lord promised, true? They | قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا
say, “Yes” then, an announcer among them will announce that “The curse of Allah (SWT) on the wrong doers | 44 | قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ لَّعْنَةُ اللهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
those who hinder from the path of Allah (SWT) and seek to make it (the path) seem crooked | الَّذِيْنَ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَيَبْغُوْنَهَا عِوَجًا
while, concerning the hereafter, they are disbelievers | 45 | وَهُمْ بِالآخِرَةِ كَافِرُوْنَ |
and between them a barrier and on the elevations, men, they recognize all by their marks | وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى الأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُوْنَ كُلًّا بِسِيْمَاهُمْ
and they call the companions of the garden that “Peace be upon you” | وَنَادُوا أَصْحَابَ الجَنَّةِ أَنْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ
not yet they have entered it, but they are desirous (hopeful) | 46 | لَمْ يَدْخُلُوْهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُوْنَ |
and when their eyes are turned towards the companions of the fire | وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَآءَ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ
they say, “Our Lord, make us not with the wrongdoing people” | 47 | قَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ القَوْمِ الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
and the companions of the heights call men, they recognize them by their marks | وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُوْنَهُمْ بِسِيْمَاهُمْ
they say, “Not benefitted to you your accumulating (wealth) and what you were proud (arrogant) about?”
are these (believers) those you (disbelievers) swore that, Allah (SWT) will not grant them with mercy | أَهَآؤُلَآءِ الَّذِيْنَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ اللهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ
“Enter the garden, no fear upon you and not you will grieve” | 49 |
and the people of the fire will call the people of the garden that, “Pour upon us from the water | وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيْضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ المَآءِ
or from what Allah (SWT) provided you, they said, “truly Allah (SWT) forbade both to the disbelievers | 50 | أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللهُ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الكَافِرِيْنَ |
those who took their religion as a distraction (amusement) and play, and the life of the world deluded them | الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوا دِيْنَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الحَيَاةُ الدُنْيَا
so, today We will forget them like how they forgot the meeting of this day and they used to reject our signs | 51 | فَاليَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُوْنَ |
and verily, came to them a book, We explained it with knowledge, guidance and mercy for a believing people | 52 | وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَاهُمْ بِكِتَابٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
do they look except for its arrival, the day its fulfillment comes, those who forgot it from before will say, | هَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيْلَهُ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيْلُهُ يَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ نَسُوْهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ
“Verily messengers of our Lord came with the truth, so are for us any intercessors that they intercede for us | قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِنْ شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا لَنَآ
or we are sent back so we will do (strive-work) other than that we used to do” | أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ
Verily they lost themselves and strayed (abandoned) from them that which they used to invent | 53 |
Verily, your Lord is Allah (SWT) Who created the heavens and the earth in seven periods |
then He established upon the throne, He covers the night with the day, seeking it incessantly | ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الأَرْشِ يُغْشِى الَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطلُبُهُ حَثِيْثًا
and the sun and the moon and the stars are subjected to His command | وَالشَّمْسَ وَالقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُوْمَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ
unquestionably for Him is the creation and the command, Allah (SWT) is blessed, Lord of creation (the worlds) | 54 | أَلَا لَهُ الخَلْقُ وَالأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللهُ رَبُّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
Call upon your Lord humbly and privately, Indeed He loves not the transgressors | 55 |
and don’t cause corruption in the earth after its reformation and call Him fearing and hoping | وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوْهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا
Indeed, the mercy of Allah (SWT) is near, from the good doers | 56 |
and He who sends the winds, glad tidings between His merciful hand | وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَي رَحْمَتِهِ
until when they carried heavy clouds, We drive them to a land, dead, then We send down on it, water | حَتَّى إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَنْزَلْنَا بِهِ المَآءَ
then We bring forth from it from every fruit, thus We will bring forth the dead, so that you may take heed | 57 | فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ كَذَلِكَ نُخْرِجُ المَوْتَى لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ |
and the good land, its vegetation comes forth by the permission of its Lord and which is bad, not it comes | وَالبَلَدُ الطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ وَالَّذِي خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ
forth, except with difficulty thus We explain the signs for a people who are grateful | 58 | إِلَّا نَكِدًا كَذَلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُوْنَ |
Certainly, We sent Noah to his people and he said, “O my people! worship Allah (SWT) | لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ
not for you any god other than Him, truly I fear upon you the punishment of a great (severe-dreadful) day | 59 | مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ إِلَاهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ |
The chiefs from his people said, “Indeed we see you in clear error” | 60 |
He said, “O my people! there is not in me error but that I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds | 61 | قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي ضَلَالَةٌ وَلَكِنِّي رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
I convey to you the messages of my Lord and I advise you, and I know from Allah (SWT) what not you know” | 62 | أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنْصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
or are you amazed that came to you a reminder from your Lord upon a man among you | أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَنْ جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِّنْكُمْ
to warn you and to cause you to protect (remember-save yourselves) so you may receive mercy | 63 | لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَ |
But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship |
and We drowned those who denied our signs, truly they were a people, blind | 64 | وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِيْنَ |
and to Aad, their brother Hud, he said, “O my people, worship Allah (SWT) | وَإِلَى عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُوْدًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ
not for you any god besides Him, will you not fear (be mindful-remember-become aware)?”
The chiefs of those who disbelieved from his people said, | قَالَ المَلَأُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ
“Indeed, we certainly see you in folly (foolishness) and indeed, we certainly think you are from the liars” | 66 |
He said, “O my people! not am I in folly (a fool) but rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds” | 67 |
I convey to you the messages of my Lord and I am to you a trustworthy adviser | 68 |
Do you wonder that came to you a reminder from your Lord on a man among you to warn you?
and remember when He made you successors from after the people of Noah | وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِن بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوْحٍ
and increased you in the creation (stature) extensively | وَزَادَكُمْ فِي الخَلْقِ بَسْطَةً
So, remember the favors of Allah (SWT) so that you may succeed (be successful) | 69 |
They said, “have you come to us that we worship Allah (SWT) alone | قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ اللهَ وَحْدَهُ
and we forsake what our forefathers used to worship | وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا
then bring us of what you promise (threaten) us if you are of the truthful” | 70 | فَأْتِنَا بَمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِيْنَ |
He said, “Verily fallen upon you from your Lord, punishment and anger, do you dispute with me | قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَادِلُوْنَنِي
concerning names you named them, you and your forefathers, not Allah (SWT) sent down | فِي أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوْهَآ أَنْتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ مَّأ نَزَّلَ اللهُ
for it any authority? Then wait indeed, I am with you of the ones who wait” | 71 | بِهَا مِنْ سُلطَانٍ فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ المُنْتَظِرِيْنَ |
So, We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us and We cut the roots of those who denied our signs | فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِيْنَ مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا
and not they were believers | 72 | وَمَا كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
And to Thamud their brother Salih (AS) he said, “O my people, worship Allah (SWT) not for you from a God | وَإِلَى ثَمُوْدَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَاهٍ
beside Him, verily, came to you a clear proof from your Lord | غَيْرُهُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ
this she camel of Allah (SWT) is a sign for you so leave her to eat | هَذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوْهَا تَأْكُلْ
on the earth of Allah (SWT) and let not any harm touch her lest a painful punishment seizes you | 73 | فِي أَرْضِ اللهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوْهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيْمٌ |
and remember when He made you successors from after Aad and settled you on the earth | وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ
You take from its plain’s palaces, and you carve out the mountains, homes |
so, remember the bounties of your Lord and do not act wickedly on the earth spreading corruption | 74 | فَاذْكُرُوا ءَالَآءَ اللهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوا فِي الأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِيْنَ |
The leaders, who were arrogant from his people said to those who were weak from who believed |
among them, “Do you know that Salih (AS) is one sent from his Lord?”
They said, “Truly we believe in what he was sent with” | 75 | قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلَ بِهِ مُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
Those who were arrogant said, “Truly we with what you believe in it, are disbelievers | 76 | قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا بِالَّذِي ءَامَنْتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُوْنَ |
So, they hamstrung the shecamel and defied the command of their Lord and they said, “O Salih (AS) | فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ
bring us to what you promise us if you be from those who are sent (messengers)” | 77 | ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ المُرْسَلِيْنَ |
so, the earthquake seized them then they became in their homes fallen prone | 78 | فَأََخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِيْنَ |
so, he turned away from them and he said, “O my people! Indeed, I have conveyed to you the message of my | فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّي
Lord, and I advised you but not you like the advisors” | 79 |
and Luth (AS) when he said to his people, “Do you commit immorality | وَلُوْطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُوْنَ الفَاحِشَةَ
not has preceded you therein from anyone from the worlds | 80 | مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ العَالَمِيْنَ |
“Verily, you surely approach the men with desire instead of women, nay, you are a people exceeding | 81 | إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُوْنَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُوْنِ النِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُوْنَ |
and not was the answer of his people except to say, “Drive them out from your town | وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوْهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ
indeed, they are a people who keep themselves pure” | 82 | إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُوْنَ |
so, We saved him and his family except his wife, she was from those who stay behind | 83 | فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الغَابِرِيْنَ |
and We rained on them a rain then see, how was the end of the criminals | 84 | وَأَمْطَرْنَا علَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ المُجْرِمِيْنَ |
and to Madyan their brother Shuaib (AS) he said, “O my people! worship Allah (SWT) not for you a god other | وَإِلَى مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَاهٍ
than Him, indeed, has come to you a clear proof from your Lord so, fulfil the weight and the measure | غَيْرُهُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُوا الكَيْلَ وَالمِيْزَانَ
and don’t diminish people in their things and don’t cause corruption in the earth after its reformation | وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوْا فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا
that is better for you if you are believers | 85 | ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُم مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ |
and don’t sit on every path threatening and hindering from the way of Allah (SWT) who believe | وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوْعِدُوْنَ وَتَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ
in Him, seeking crookedness and remember when you were few then He increased you | بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ كُنْتُمْ قَلِيْلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ
and see how was the end of the corrupters | 86 | وَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ المُفْسِدِيْنَ |
and if was a group among you (who) believed in that which I was sent with it, and a group | وَإِنْ كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْكُمْ ءَامَنُوا بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَطَآئِفَةٌ
who didn’t believe then be patient till Allah (SWT) judges between us and He is the best of the judges | 87 | لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللهُ بَيْنَنَا وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الحَاكِمِيْنَ |
Part 9 / Chapter 7 | Chapter 7 /
the chiefs who were arrogant from his people said, “indeed, we will surely remove you O Shuaib | قَالَ المَلَأُ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَا شُعَيْبُ
and those who believed with you from our city or indeed, you certainly must return (promise) to our way” | وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا مَعَكَ مِنْ قَرْيَتِنَآ أوْ لَتَعُوْدُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا
he said, “and even if we are ones who hate?”
Indeed, we would invent against Allah (SWT) a lie if we returned in your religion after Allah (SWT) saved us | قَدِ افْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى اللهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِي مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّيْنَا اللهُ
from it, and not it is for us that we return in it except that Allah (SWT) our Lord wills | مِنْهَا وَمَا يَكُوْنُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُوْدَ فِيْهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ اللهُ رَبُّنَا
our Lord encompasses everything in knowledge, upon Allah (SWT) we put our trust | وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا عَلَى اللهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا
our Lord, decide (give victory-open) between us and between our people in truth | رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالحَقِّ
and You are best of those who decide (opener) | 89 | وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الفَاتِحِيْنَ |
The chiefs (leaders) of those who disbelieved from his people said, | وَقَالَ المَلَأُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ
“Indeed, if you follow Shuaib (AS) certainly you will be among the losers” | 90 |
so, the earthquake seized them then they became in their homes fallen prone | 91 | فَأََخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِيْنَ |
Those who denied Shuaib (AS) were like not they prospered in it | الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَأَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوا فِيْهَا
those who denied Shuaib (AS), they were the losers | 92 | الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا هُمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
so, he turned away from them and he said, “O my people! Indeed, I have conveyed to you the message of | فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ
my Lord, and I advised you so, how can I grieve for a people who are disbelievers?”
and not We sent in a city a prophet except We seized its people with adversity | وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلَّآ أَخَذْنَآ أَهْلَهَا بِالبَأْسَآءِ
and hardship so that they may humble themselves | 94 | وَالضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُوْنَ |
then We changed in place of the bad for the good until they prospered and said, | ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى عَفَوا وَّقَالُوا
“Indeed, the adversity and the ease touched our forefathers (as well)” | قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا الضَّرَّآءُ وَالسَّرَّآءُ
so, We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive (realize) | 95 | فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ |
and if the people of the towns believed and feared, We would certainly have opened upon them blessings | وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ القُرَى ءَامَنُوا وَاتَّقَوا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَرَكَاتٍ
from the heaven and the earth but they denied so We seized them for what they used to earn | 96 | مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالأَرْضِ وَلَاكِنْ كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُوْنَ |
Do the people of the cities feel secure against Our punishment coming to them at night while they sleep? | 97 |
or did the people of the cities feel secure against Our punishment coming to them in daylight while they play?
do they then feel secure from the plan of Allah (SWT) but not feel secure from the plan of Allah (SWT) | أَفَأَمِنُوا مَكْرَ اللهِ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللهِ
except the people who are the losers | 99 | إِلَّا القَوْمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
Is it then not a guide to those who inherit the earth from after its people that if We willed, We could afflict them | أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِيْنَ يَرِثُوْنَ الأَرْضَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَنْ لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَاهُمْ
them for their sins and We put a seal on their hearts, so they do not hear?
These cities, We relate to you of their news and certainly came to them their messengers with clear proofs | تِلْكَ القُرَى نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِن أَنْبَآئِهَا وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالبِيِّنَاتِ
but not they were to believe in what they denied from before | فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا مِن قَبْلُ
thus Allah (SWT) put a seal on the hearts of the disbelievers | 101 | كَذَلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللهُ عَلَى قُلُوْبِ الكَافِرِيْنَ |
and not We found for most of them any covenant, but We found most of them certainly defiantly disobedient | 102 | وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِيْنَ |
Then We sent from after them Moosa (AS) with Our signs to Firaun and his chiefs |
but they wronged them so, see how was the end of the corrupters | 103 | فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ المُفْسِدِيْنَ |
and Moosa (AS) said, “O Firaun! Indeed, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds” | 104 | وَقَالَ مُوْسَى يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُوْلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
One who is obligated upon that not I speak about Allah (SWT) except the truth |
Indeed, I come to you with a clear sign from your Lord so send with me the children of Israel | 105 |
He said, “If you have come with a sign then bring it if you are of the truthful” | 106 |
So, he threw his stick (staff) then lo! it was a snake, clearly | 107 |
and he drew out his hand and lo! it was white to the onlookers | 108 | وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّاظِرِيْنَ |
The chiefs from the people of Firaun said, “Indeed, this is certainly a learned magician” | 109 |
He wishes to drive you out from your land so what do you instruct (command-order)?” | 110 |
They said, “Defer (postpone) him and his brother and send gatherers in the cities | 111 | قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِي المَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِيْنَ |
to bring you of every learned magician” | 112 | يَأْتُوْكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيْمٍ |
so, the magicians came to Firaun, they said, “Indeed, for us certainly a reward if we are victorious” | 113 | وَجَآءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوا إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الغَالِبِيْنَ |
He said, “Yes, and certainly you surely from the ones who are close” | 114 |
They said, “O Moosa (AS) whether you throw or whether that we be the ones to throw” | 115 |
He said, “Throw” then when they threw, they bewitched (deluded) the eyes of the people | قَالَ أَلْقُوا فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوا سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ
and terrified them and came with a great magic | 116 | وَاسْتَرْهَبُوْهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيْمٍ |
and We inspired to Moosa (AS) that “throw his stick” then lo! it swallows what they were deluding (falsifying) | 117 | وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَى مُوْسَى أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِقُوْنَ |
so, the truth was established and became nullified (vain) what they did do | 118 | فَوَقَعَ الحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُوْنَ |
so, they were defeated there, and they returned humiliated (small) | 119 | فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ وَانْقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِيْنَ |
and the magicians threw themselves prostrate (into prostration) | 120 | وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِيْنَ |
they said, “We believe in the Lord of the worlds” | 121 | قَالُوا ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
Lord of Moosa (AS) and Haroon (AS) | 122 | رَبِّ مُوْسَى وَهَارُوْنَ |
Firaun said, “You believed in Him before that I give permission to you | قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ءَامَنْتُمْ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ
indeed, this is certainly a plot, you plotted it in the city | إِنَّ هَذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوْهُ فِي المَدِيْنَةِ
so, you may drive out from it, its people so, soon you will know” | 123 | لِتُخْرِجُوا مِنْهَآ أَهْلَهَا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
“I will surely cut off your hands and your feet from opposite sides then I will crucify you all” | 124 | لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ |
they said, “Verily We to our Lord will return | 125 | قَالُوا إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُوْنَ |
and not you resent us except that we believe in the signs of our Lord when they came to us | وَمَا تَنْقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِئَايَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا
our Lord! Pour upon us patience and cause us to die as ones who submit” | 126 | رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِيْنَ |
and the chiefs of the people of Firaun said, “Will you leave Moosa (AS) and his people | وَقَالَ المَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوْسَى وَقَوْمَهُ
to cause corruption in the earth and forsake you and your gods?”
He said, “we will kill their sons and let live their women and indeed we are over them subjugators” | 127 |
Moosa (AS) said to his people, “seek help in Allah (SWT) and be patient indeed, the earth belongs to Allah (SWT) | قَالَ مُوْسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِيْنُوا بِاللهِ وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ الأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ
(SWT), He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants and the end (outcome) belongs to the righteous” | 128 |
They said, “we have been harmed from before that you came to us and from after what you came to us” | قَالُوا أُوْذِيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا
He said, “perhaps your Lord that He will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth | قَالَ عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ
then see how you will do” | 129 | فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُوْنَ |
and certainly, We seized the people of Firaun with years and a deficit of fruit so that they may remember | 130 | وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِيْنَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُوْنَ |
but when good came to them they said, “for us, this” and if evil (bad) strikes (befalls-afflicts) them | فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ الحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا لَنَا هَذِهِ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ
they ascribe to Moosa (AS) and who is with him, no doubt only their ascribing to Allah (SWT) | يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوْسَى وَمَن مَّعَهُ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَآئِرُهُم عِنْدَ اللهِ
but most of them know not | 131 | وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
and they said, “whatever you bring us with it of a sign to delude us with it, so not we are believers in you” | 132 | وَقَالُوا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
so, We sent on them the flood and the locusts and the lice and the frogs | فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ الطُّوْفَانَ وَالجَرَادَ وَالقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ
and the blood, clearly explained signs yet they showed arrogance and were a people, criminal | 133 | وَالدَّمَ ءَايَاتٍ مُّفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِيْنَ |
and when fell on them the punishment they said, “O Moosa (AS) invoke for us your Lord | وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوا يَا مُوْسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ
by what He promised to you that if You remove from us the punishment | بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ لَئِنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ
indeed, we will surely believe in you and indeed, we will surely send with you the children of Israel” | 134 | لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَآءِيْلَ |
then when We removed from them the punishment till a term which they had to reach it | فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ إِلَى أَجَلٍ هُمْ بَالِغُوْهُ
then they broke (their word) | 135 | إِذَا هُمْ يَنْكُثُوْنَ |
so, We took retribution (revenge) from them and We drowned them in the sea | فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي اليَمِّ
because they denied Our signs and were about them heedless (unaware) | 136 | بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِيْنَ |
and We caused the people who were considered weak (oppressed) to inherit the eastern (parts) of the land | وَأَوْرَثْنَا القَوْمَ الَّذِيْنَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُوْنَ مَشَارِقَ الأَرْضِ
and the western (parts) of it which We blessed in it and the best word of your Lord was fulfilled | وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيْهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الحُسْنَى
on the children of Israel because they were patient and We destroyed what | عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَآءِيْلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا
Firaun and his people used to make and what they used to erect | 137 |
and We caused the children of Israel to cross the sea and they came upon a people who devote upon idols | وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبِنِي إِسْرَآءِيْلَ البَحْرَ فَأَتَوا عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُوْنَ عَلَى أَصْنَامٍ
of theirs, they said, “O Moosa (AS)! make for us a god like how for them is a god | لَّهُمْ قَالُوا يَا مُوْسَى اجْعَلْ لَّنَآ إِلَاهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ
he said, “truly you a people, ignorant” | 138 | قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُوْنَ |
indeed, these are destroyed, what they in it and futile is what they used to do” | 139 | إِنَّ هَآءُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّاهُمْ فِيْهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُوْنَ |
he said, “should I seek for you a god other than Allah (SWT) while He has preferred you over the creation” | 140 | قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللهِ أَبْغِيْكُمْ إِلَاهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى العَالَمِيْنَ |
and when We saved you from the people of Firaun, who were afflicting you with evil (worst) punishment | وَإِذْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُوْمُوْنَكُمْ سُوْءَ العَذَابِ
they were killing your sons and letting your daughters live | يُقَتِّلُوْنَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُوْنَ نِسَآءَكُمْ
and in these is a great trial (test) from your Lord, | 141 | وَفِي ذَلِكُمْ بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيْمٌ |
and We appointed for Moosa (AS) thirty nights, and We completed them with ten (more) | وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوْسَى ثَلَاثِيْنَ لَيْلَةٍ وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ
and the appointment of his Lord was completed in forty nights | فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً
and Moosa (AS) said to his brother Haroon (AS), “Represent me with my people | وَقَالَ مُوْسَى لِأَخِيْهِ هَارُوْنَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي
and do right and do not follow the way of the corrupters” | 142 | وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيْلَ المُفْسِدِيْنَ |
and when Moosa (AS) came to Our appointment and his Lord spoke to him | وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوْسَى لِمِيْقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ
he said, “O my Lord! show me so I may look at You” He said, “not you will (able) see Me | قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَال لَنْ تَرَانِي
but look at the mountain, if it remains in its place then you shall see Me” so, when | وَلَاكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي فَلَمَّا
his Lord revealed His Glory to the mountains, He made it levelled and Moosa (AS) fell down unconscious | تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوْسَى صَعِقًا
and when he recovered, he said, “glory be to You! I turn to you (repenting) and I am the first of the believers” | 143 | فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
He said, “O Moosa (AS) indeed, I chose you for My message and for My word to the people | قَالَ يَا مُوْسَى إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي
so, take what I gave you and be of the grateful” | 144 | فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ الشَّاكِرِيْنَ |
and We wrote in the tablets of everything, an instruction and an explanation for everything | وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ فِي الأَلْوَاحِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيْلًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ
“So, take it with firmness and command your people (so they may) take the best of it | فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا بِأَحْسَنِهَا
I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient” | 145 |
I will turn away from My signs who are arrogant on the earth without right | سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَاتِي الَّذِيْنَ يَتَكَبَّرُوْنَ فِي الأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الحَقِّ
and if they see every sign not, will they believe in it | وَإِنْ يَرَوا كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا
and if they see the way of the right not, will they take it as a way | وَإِنْ يَرَوا سَبِيْلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيْلًا
and if they see the way of error, they take it as a way | وَإِنْ يَرَوا سَبِيْلَ الغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوْهُ سَبِيْلًا
that is because they denied in Our signs, and they were heedless of them | 146 | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِيْنَ |
and those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the hereafter, their deeds are worthless | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ الآخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ
how will they be recompensed except by what they used to do?
and the people of Moosa (AS) made a calf image from after him from their ornaments having a lowing sound | وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوْسَى مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ
don’t they see it does not talk to them and does not guide them to a way? they took it and were wrongdoers | 148 | أَلَمْ يَرَوا أَنَّهُ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيْهِمْ سَبِيْلًا اتَّخَذُوْهُ وَكَانُوا ظَالِمِيْنَ |
and when in their hands fell and they saw that they certainly erred (went astray) | وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَرَأَوا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا
they said, “indeed, if our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us surely, we will be of the losers” | 149 | قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْلَنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الخَاسِرِيْنَ |
and when Moosa (AS) returned to his people angry and grieved | وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوْسَى أِلَى قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا
he said, “evil is what you succeeded me with after me, were you impatient with the command of your Lord?”
and he cast down the tablets and he seized his brother by the head, dragging him to himself | وَأَلْقَى الأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيْهِ يَجُرُّهُ إِلَيْهِ
he said, “son of my mother! surely, the people considered me weak (oppressed) and were about to kill me | قَالَ ابْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ القَوْمَ اسْتَضْعَفُوْنِي وَكَادُوا يَقْتُلُوْنَنِي
so, let not the enemy rejoice over me and don’t make me among the wrongdoing people” | 150 | فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيَ الأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي مَعَ القَوْمِ الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
he said, “My Lord! forgive me and my brother and admit us into your mercy | قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْلِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ
for you are the Most Merciful of the merciful” | 151 | وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ |
truly those who took the calf, the anger from their Lord will reach them | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوا العِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ
and humiliation in the life of the world and thus We recompense the ones who invent | 152 | وَذِلَّةٌ فِي الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَكَذَالِكَ نَجْزِي المُفْتَرِيْنَ |
and those who do the evils then they repent from after it and believed | وَالَّذِيْنَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا مِن بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوا
surely, from after that, your Lord is certainly Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful | 153 | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدهَا لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ |
and when the anger calmed in Moosa (AS) he took the tablets | وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوْسَى الغَضَبُ أَخَذَ الأَلْوَاحَ
and in its inscription was a guidance and a mercy for those who, they are fearful of their Lord | 154 | وَفِي نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُوْنَ |
and Moosa (AS) chose seventy men from his people for Our appointment | وَاخْتَارَ مُوْسَى قَوْمَهُ سَبْعِيْنَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيْقَاتِنَا
then when the earthquake seized them, he said, “O my Lord! had you wished you could’ve destroyed them | فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُمْ
from before and me, would You destroy us for what the fools among us did?
not it is except Your trial, You let go astray by it whom You wish, and You guide whom You wish | إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَآءُ
You are our Protector (Guardian) so forgive us and have mercy on us as You are the best of the forgivers | 155 |
and prescribe (ordain) for us in this world, good and in the hereafter, truly we have turned to you” | وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ
He said, “My punishment, I inflict (strike) with it whom I wish, but My mercy encompasses everything | قَالَ عَذَابِي أُصِيْبُ بِهِ مَنْ أَشَآءُ وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
so, I will ordain it for those who are righteous (fear) and give the obligatory tax | فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَ وَيُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكَاةَ
and those who (they) believe in Our verses (signs) | 156 | وَالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ بِئَايَاتِنَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
those who follow the messenger, the unlettered prophet who they find him written about him | الَّذِيْنَ يَتَّبِعُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلَ النَّبِيَّ الأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُوْنَهُ مَكْتُوْبًا عِنْدَهُمْ
in the Taurat and the Injeel, he commands them to the right (good) and he forbids them from the wrong | فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيْلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ المُنْكَرِ
and he makes lawful for them the pure (good) and makes unlawful for them the impure (bad) | وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الخَبَآئِثَ
and he relieves (removes) from them their burden and the fetters (shackles-chains) which were upon them | وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ
so, those who believe in him and honor him and help him and follow the light which has been sent down | فَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوْهُ وَنَصَرُوْهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّوْرَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ
with him, those, they are the successful ones | 157 | مَعَهُ أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ المُفْلِحُوْنَ |
say, “O people! Indeed, I am the messenger of Allah (SWT) to you all | قُلْ يَآ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُوْلُ اللهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيْعًا
who, belongs to Him the dominion (kingdom) of the heavens and the earth | الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ
not a God except He, He gives live, and He causes death | لَآ إِلَاهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيْتُ
so, believe in Allah (SWT) and His messenger, the unlettered prophet who believes in Allah (SWT) | فَئَامِنُوا بِاللهِ وَرَسُوْلِهِ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ الَّذِيْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ
and His words, so, follow him so that you may be guided” | 158 | وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوْهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُوْنَ |
and from the people of Moosa (AS) is a community, they guide with the truth and with it they establish justice | 159 | وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوْسَى أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُوْنَ بِالحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُوْنَ |
and We divided them into twelve tribes, communities and We inspired to Moosa (AS) when | وَقَطَعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَى مُوْسَى إِذِ
his people asked him for water that “strike with your stick, the stone” then gushed forth from it twelve | اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الحَجَرَ فَانْبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَاعَشْرَةَ
springs, certainly, each people knew their drinking places and We shaded on them with the clouds | عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الغَمَامَ
and We sent down upon them sweet gum and quails, “eat of the good things which We have provided you” | وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ المَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ
and not they wronged Us but they were doing wrong to (oppressing) themselves | 160 | وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَاكِن كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ |
and when it was said to them, “live in this town and eat from it wherever you wish | وَإِذْ قِيْلَ لَهُمُ اسْكُنُوا هَذِهِ القَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ
and say, “forgive us” and enter the gate in humility (prostrating) | وَقُوْلُوا حِطَّةٌ وَادْخُلُوا البَابَ سُجَّدًا
We will forgive for you your sins, and We will increase the good-doers” | 161 |
but those who wronged among them changed the word to other than that which was said to them | فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيْلَ لَهُمْ
so, We sent upon them torment from the sky because they were doing wrong | 162 | فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُوْنَ |
and ask them about the town which was situated by the sea when they transgressed in (the matter of) the sabbath | وَسْئَلْهُمْ عَنِ القَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ البَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُوْنَ فِي السَّبْتِ
when their fish came to them ordained on the day of their sabbath and on the day not they had sabbath | إِذْ تَأْتِيْهِمْ حِيْتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُوْنَ
not they come to them, thus We test them because they were defiantly disobeying | 163 | لَا تَأْتِيْهِمْ كَذَلِكَ نَبْلُوْهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُوْنَ |
and when a community among them said, “why do you preach a people Allah (SWT) is going to destroy them | وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُوْنَ قَوْمًا اللهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ
or punish them with a severe punishment?” they said, “to be absolved before your Lord | أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًا قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ
so that they may become righteous” | 164 | وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ |
so, when they forgot what they had been reminded with it, We saved those who forbade from the evil | فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِيْنَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوْءِ
and We seized those who wronged with a wretched (evil) punishment because they were defiantly disobedient | 165 | وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيْسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُوْنَ |
so, when they exceeded all bounds about what they were forbidden from it, We said to them, “be apes, despised” | 166 | فَلَمَّا عَتَوا عَن مَّا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُوْنُوا قِرَدَةً خَاشِئِيْنَ |
and when your Lord announced that He will surely raise on them until the day of resurrection | وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ
those who will afflict them with a grievous (evil) punishment | مَنْ يَسُوْمُهُمْ سُوءَ العَذَابِ
surely your Lord is indeed, swift in retribution yet surely He is indeed, Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful | 167 | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيْعُ العِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ |
and We divided them in the earth into nations, among them the righteous and among them other than that | وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ أُمَمًا مِّنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُوْنَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُوْنَ ذَلِكَ
and We tested them with the good and the evil (bad-adversity) so that they may return | 168 | وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ |
then successors succeeded from after them, inherited the book | فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الكِتَابَ
they take the goods (vanities) of this world, they say, “It will be forgiven for us” | يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَذَا الأَدْنَى وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا
and if comes to them vanities similar to it, they will take it | وَإِنْ يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِثْلُهُ يَأْخُذُوْهُ
was not a covenant (promise) of the book taken from them?
that not they will say about Allah (SWT) except the truth, while they studied what is in it?
and the life hereafter is better for those who are God-conscious, will you then not reason?
and those who hold fast to the book and establish the prayer | وَالَّذِيْنَ يُمَسِّكُوْنَ بِالكِتَابِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ
surely, We will not allow to be lost (let go to waste) the reward of the righteous (ones who corrected themselves) | 170 | إِنَّا لَا نُضِيْعُ أَجْرَ المُصْلِحِيْنَ |
and when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a canopy and they taught that it would fall on them | وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ
take what We have given you with strength and remember what is in it so that you may fear Allah (SWT) | 171 | خُذُوا مَآ ءَاتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَآ فِيْهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُوْنَ |
and when your Lord took from the children of Adam (AS) from their backs their offspring | وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِن بَنِي ءَادَمَ مِنْ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ
and made them testify against themselves, “Am I not your Lord?” they said, “Yes, off course, We have testified” | وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى شَهِدْنَآ
lest you say on the day of resurrection, “surely, we were about this unaware” | 172 | أَنْ تَقُوْلُوا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِيْنَ |
or you say, “only our fathers from before associated | أَوْ تَقُوْلُوا إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ
and we were offspring from after them so will You destroy us for what the falsifiers did?”
and thus, We explain the signs so that they may return | 174 | وَكَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الأَيَاتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ |
and recite to them the news (story) of one who We gave Our signs | وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِي ءَاتَيْنَاهُ ءَايَاتِنَا
but he detached from them, so Satan followed him, so he became of those gone astray | 175 | فَانْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الغَاوِيْنَ |
and if We wished We certainly could have raised him with these, but he adhered to the earth | وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَاكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ
and he followed his desires so, his example is like the example of the dog | وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الكَلْبِ
if you burden it, he lolls out his tongue or if you leave it, he lolls out his tongue | إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ
that is the example of the people who denied Our signs so narrate the story so that they may ponder (reflect) | 176 | ذّلِكَ مَثَلُ القَوْمِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا فَاقْصُصِ القَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَقَّرُوْنَ |
evil of an example, the people who denied Our signs and their selves used to wrong | 177 | سَآءَ مَثَلًا القَوْمُ الَّذِيْ كَذَّبُوا بَئَايَاتِنَا وَأَنْفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا يَظْلِمُوْنَ |
who Allah (SWT) guides then he is the guided one and who He lets go astray then those, they are the losers | 178 | مَن يَهْدِ اللهُ فَهُوَ المُهْتَدِي وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَأُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
and certainly, We created for hell many from the Jinn and men | وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ
for them are hearts but not they understand with them and for them are eyes but not they see with them | لَهُمْ قُلُوْبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُوْنَ بِهَا
and for them are ears but not they hear with them, those are like cattle | وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُوْنَ بِهَآ أُوْلَآئِكَ كَالأَنْعَامِ
nay! they are more astray, those, they are the heedless ones | 179 | بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الغَافِلُوْنَ |
and belonging to Allah (SWT) are the most beautiful names so invoke Him by them | وَلِلَّهِ الأَسْمَآءُ الحُسْنَى فَادْعُوْهُ بِهَا
and leave those who deviate concerning His names | وَذَرُوا الَّذِيْنَ يُلْحِدُوْنَ فِي أَسْمَآئِهِ
they will be recompensed for what they used to do | 180 | سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُوْنَ |
and from who We created is a nation who guides with the truth and with it they establish justice | 181 | وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُوْنَ بِالحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُوْنَ |
but those who denied Our signs, We will gradually lead them from where not they know | 182 | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
and I will give respite to them, surely My plan is firm | 183 | وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِيْنٌ |
do they not reflect? not in their companion from any Jinn, he is not except a clear warner | 184 | أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّنْ جِنَّةٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ |
and do they not look in the kingdom of the heavens and the earth | أَوَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا فِي مَلَكُوْتِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ
and what Allah (SWT) created of everything and that perhaps that | وَمَا خَلَقَ اللهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَى أَن يَكُوْنَ
their term (life) has surely come near? so, in what statement after this will they believe?
whoever Allah (SWT) lets go astray then not is a guide for him and He leaves them in their transgression | مَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ
wandering blindly | 186 | يَعْمَهُوْنَ |
they ask you about the hour “when will be its appointed time?”
say, “only its knowledge is with my Lord, not can reveal its time except Him | قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي لَا يُجَلِّيْهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ
heavy it is in the heavens and the earth, not, will it come to you except suddenly” | ثَقُلَتْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ لَا تَأْتِيْكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً
they ask you as if you are well informed about it, say, “only its knowledge is with Allah (SWT) | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللهِ
but most people don’t know” | 187 | وَلَاكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
say, “I have no power in myself to benefit nor to harm except what Allah (SWT) wills | قُلْ لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللهُ
and if I would know of the unseen surely, I could have multiplied of the good and no evil would have touched me | وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَعْلَمُ الغَيْبَ لَاْسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ الخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ السُّوءُ
not am I but (except) a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for a people who believe” | 188 | إِنْ أَنَاْ إِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ وَبَشِيْرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
He is who created you from a single soul and made from it its mate (spouse) to live with her | هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا
then when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues with it | فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّاهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيْفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ
but when she grows heavy, they both invoke Allah (SWT), their Lord, “surely, if you give us a righteous (child) | فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَتْ دَّعَوَا اللهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْنَا صَالِحًا
certainly, we will be from the grateful (thankful)” | 189 | لَّنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِيْنَ |
but when He gave them a righteous, they made with Him partners in what He gave them | فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَاهُمَا صَالِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَاهُمَا
but Allah (SWT) is exalted, Most-High above what they associate | 190 | فَتَعَالَى اللهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ |
do they associate what created not anything while they (themselves) are created?
and not are they capable to help them nor can they help themselves | 192 | وَلَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَآ أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُوْنَ |
and if you call them to the guidance, they will not follow you | وَإِنْ تَدْعُوْهُمْ إِلَى الهُدَى لَا يَتَّبِعُوْكُمْ
it is the same for you whether you call them, or you keep silent | 193 | سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوْهُمْ أَمْ أَنْتُمْ صَامِتُوْنَ |
Indeed, those you call from besides Allah (SWT) are slaves like you | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ
so, call them and let them respond to you if you are truthful | 194 | فَادْعُوْهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيْبُوا لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِيْنَ |
Are for them feet, they walk with them or for them hands, they hold (seize) with them | أَ لَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُوْنَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُوْنَ بِهَآ
or for them eyes, they see with them or for them ears, they hear with them?
say, “Invoke your partners then plot against me and do not give me respite” | 195 | قُلِ ادْعُوا شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيْدُوْنِ فَلَا تُنْظِرُوْنَ |
Indeed, my protector is Allah (SWT) who sent down the book and He protects the righteous | 196 |
and those you call from other than Him not are they capable to help you nor can they help themselves | 197 | وَالَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُوْنَ |
and if you call them to the guidance, they will not hear you | وَإِنْ تَدْعُوْهُمْ إِلَى الهُدَى لَا يَسْمَعُوا
and you see them looking at you, but they do not see | 198 | وَتَرَاهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ إِلِيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُوْنَ |
Take to forgiveness (pardon) and enjoin to the good and turn away from the heedless (ignorant) | 199 |
and if an evil suggestion is whispered to you from Satan, seek refuge with Allah (SWT) | وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللهِ
indeed, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing | 200 | إِنَّهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
Indeed, those who are God-Conscious, when an impulse touches them from Satan |
they remember then they are those who see | 201 | تَذَكَّرُوا فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُوْنَ |
and their brothers they plunge them into error then not they cease | 202 | وَإِخْوَانُهُمْ يَمُدُّوْنَهُمْ فِي الغَيِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُوْنَ |
and when not you bring them a sign they say, “why not! you devised (chose) it” | وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِمْ بِئَايَةٍ قَالُوا لَوْلَا اجْتَبَيْتَهَا
Say, “Only I follow what is revealed to me from my Lord | قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوْحَى إِلَيَّ مِن رَّبِّي
this is enlightenment from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe” | 203 | هَذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
and when the Quran is recited then listen to it and pay attention so that you receive mercy | 204 | وَإِذَا قُرِيَ القُرْءَانُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنْصِتُوا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَ |
and remember your Lord in yourself, humbly and in fear | وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيْفَةً
and without the loudness of words in the mornings and in the evenings | وَدُوْنَ الجَهْرِ مِنَ القَوْلِ بِالغُدُوِّ وَالأَصَالِ
and do not be among the neglectful (heedless) | 205 | وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الغَافِلِيْنَ |
Indeed, those who with your Lord are not arrogant (proud) from His worship |
and they glorify Him and to Him they prostrate | 206 | وَيُسَبِّحُوْنَهُ وَلَهُ يَسْجُدُوْنَ |
