Chapter 8
Chapter 8 of the holy Quran with full Arabic text and English translation (Surah Al-Anfal – سُوْرَةُ الأَنْفَالِ – Spoils of war)
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ
| Part 9 / Chapter 8 | Chapter 8 | Chapter 8 / قَالَ المَلَأُ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا |
| Verse | ||
| They ask you about the spoils of war | يَسْئَلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ | |
| Say; “The spoils of war belong to Allah (SWT) and the messenger | قُلِ الأَنْفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُوْلِ | |
| so, fear Allah (SWT) and correct what is between you | فَاتَّقُوا اللهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ | |
| and obey Allah (SWT) and His messenger, if you be believers | 1 | وَأَطِيْعُوا اللهَ وَرَسُوْلَهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
| Only believers are those who when Allah (SWT) is mentioned, their hearts feel fear | إِنَّمَا المُؤْمِنُوْنَ الَّذِيْنَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوْبُهُمْ | |
| and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith and on their Lord, they trust | 2 | وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُهُ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيْمَانًا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُوْنَ |
| those who establish the prayer and from what We provided them; they spend | 3 | الَّذِيْنَ يُقِيْمُوْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُوْنَ |
| Those, they are believers in truth, for them ranks (degrees) with their Lord | أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ المُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَقًّا لَّهُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ | |
| and forgiveness and a noble (honorable) provision | 4 | وَمَغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيْمٌ |
| like how your Lord brought you out from your home in truth | كَمَآ أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِن بَيْتِكَ بِالحَقِّ | |
| while indeed, a party of the believers certainly disliked | 5 | وَإِنَّ فَرِيْقًا مِّنَ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ لَكَارِهُوْنَ |
| They dispute with you concerning the truth after what was made clear | يُجَادِلُوْنَكَ فِي الحَقِّ بَعْدَ مَا تَبَيَّنَ | |
| as if they were driven to death while they were looking | 6 | كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُوْنَ إِلَى المَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ |
| and when Allah (SWT) promises you one of the two groups that it for you | وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللهُ إِحْدَى الطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ | |
| and you wished that other than that of the armed would be for you | وَتَوَدُّوْنَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ الشَّوْكَةِ تَكُوْنُ لَكُمْ | |
| but Allah (SWT) wished to justify the truth by His words and cut-off the roots of the disbelievers | 7 | وَيُرِيْدُ اللهُ أَنْ يُحِقَّ الحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الكَافِرِيْنَ |
| to justify the truth and prove false the falsehood even if the criminals disliked it | 8 | لِيُحِقَّ الحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ البَاطِلَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ المُجْرِمُوْنَ |
| when you were seeking help of your Lord then He answered for you | إِذْ تَسْتَغِيْثُوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ | |
| “That I am going to reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, one after another” | 9 | أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُمْ بِأَلْفٍ مِّنَ المَلَآئِكَةِ مُرْدِفِيْنَ |
| and not Allah (SWT) made it except glad tidings so that your hearts may be content (secure) with it | وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَى وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ بِهِ قُلُوْبُكُمْ | |
| and no help except from with Allah (SWT) indeed, Allah (SWT) is All-Mighty, All-Wise | 10 | وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدَ اللهِ إِنَّ الله عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ |
| when He covered you with slumber, a security from Him and He sent down upon you water from the heaven (sky) | إِذْ يُغَشِّيْكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكًُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً | |
| to purify you with it and cause to go from you evil (suggestions) of Satan | لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِهِ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطَانِ | |
| and to strengthen (firm) your hearts and make firm with it your feet | 11 | وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَى قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ الأَقْدَامَ |
| when your Lord inspired to the angels that “I am with you so strengthen those who believed | إِذْ يُوْحِي رَبُّكَ إِلَى المَلَآئِكَةِ أَنِّي مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا | |
| I will cast terror in the hearts of those who disbelieved | سَأُلْقِي فِي قُلُوْبِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ | |
| so, strike above the necks and strike from them every fingertip” | 12 | فَاضْرِبُوا فَوْقَ الأَعْنَاقِ وَاضْرِبُوا مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ |
| that is because they opposed Allah (SWT) and His messenger and who opposes Allah (SWT) and His messenger | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا اللهَ وَرَسُوْلَهُ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ اللهَ وَرَسُوْلَهُ | |
| then surely, Allah (SWT) is severe in retribution (retaliate-return) | 13 | فَإِنَّ اللهَ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
| that “so, taste it” and that for the disbelievers is the punishment of the fire | 14 | ذَلِكُمْ فَذُوْقُوْهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَافِرِيْنَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ |
| O you who believe! when you meet those who disbelieved advancing | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا إَذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا زَحْفًا | |
| then don’t turn to them the backs | 15 | فَلَا تُوَلُّوْهُمُ الأَدْبَارَ |
| and whoever turns to them his back that day except as a strategy of war | وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ | |
| or to join to a group then indeed, he incurred the anger of Allah (SWT) | أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَى فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللهِ | |
| and his abode is Hell, an evil destination | 16 | وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ المَصِيْرِ |
| and you did not kill them, but Allah (SWT) killed them | فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوْهُمْ وَلَاكِنَّ اللهَ قَاتَلَهُمْ | |
| and not you threw when you threw but Allah (SWT) threw | وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَاكِنَّ اللهَ رَمَى | |
| so indeed, to test the believers with a good test from Him, surely, Allah (SWT) is All-Hearing, All-Knowing | 17 | وَلِيُبْلِيَ المًُؤْمِنِيْنَ مِنْهُ بَلَآءً حَسَنًا إِنَّ اللهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
| that, so that Allah (SWT) weakens the plan of the disbelievers | 18 | ذَلِكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللهَ مُوْهِنُ كَيْدِ الكَافِرِيْنَ |
| if you seek an opening (victory) then indeed, the opening came to you and if you desist then it is good for you | إِنْ تَسْتَفْتِحُوا فَقَدْ جَآءَكُمُ الفَتْحُ وَإِنْ تَنْتَهُوا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ | |
| and if you return, We will return and not will your forces avail you a thing even if (they are) numerous | وَإِنْ تَعُوْدُوا نَعُدْ وَلَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَوْ كَثُرَتْ | |
| and Allah (SWT) is with the believers | 19 | وَأَنَّ اللهَ مَعَ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
| O you who believe! obey Allah (SWT) and His messenger | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا أَطِيْعُوا اللهَ وَرَسُوْلَهُ | |
| and do not turn away from Him while you hear | 20 | وَلَا تَوَلَّوا عَنْهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْمَعُوْنَ |
| and do not be like those who say, “we heard” while they do not hear | 21 | وَلَا تَكُوْنُوا كَالَّذِيْنَ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ |
| surely, worst of the living creatures near Allah (SWT) are the deaf and the dumb, those who don’t use their intellect | 22 | إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَآبِّ عِنْدَ اللهِ الصُّمُ البُكْمُ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ |
| and had Allah (SWT) known in them any good surely, He would have caused them to hear | وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللهُ فِيْهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْ | |
| and had He caused them to hear they would have certainly turned away while they are averse | 23 | وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوا وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُوْنَ |
| O you who believe! respond to Allah (SWT) and His messenger when he calls you | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا اسْتَجِيْبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ | |
| to what gives you life and know that Allah (SWT) comes between a man and his heart | لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ يَحُُوْلُ بَيْنَ المَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ | |
| and that he to Him you will be gathered | 24 | وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ |
| and fear a trial not it will afflict those who do wrong among you exclusively | وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيْبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْكُمْ خَآصَّةً | |
| and know that Allah (SWT) is severe in retribution | 25 | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
| and remember when you were few and weak in the earth | وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ أَنْتُمْ قَلِيْلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُوْنَ فِي الأَرْضِ | |
| fearing that the people might do away with you then He sheltered you and strengthened you with His help | تَخَافُوْنَ أَنْ يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَئَاوَاكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُمْ بِنَصْرِهِ | |
| and He provided (sustained) you of the good things so that you may be grateful (thankful) | 26 | وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ |
| O you who believe! do not betray Allah (SWT) and the messenger | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا لَا تَخُوْنُوا اللهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ | |
| or betray your trusts while you know | 27 | وَتَخُوْنُوا أَمَانَاتِكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
| and know that your wealth and your children are a trial (test) | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَآ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ | |
| and that Allah (SWT) with Him is a great reward | 28 | وَأَنَّ اللهَ عِنْدَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ |
| O you who believe! if you fear Allah (SWT) He will make for you a distinct way (clear path) | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا إِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللهَ يَجْعَل لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا | |
| and remove from you your evil deeds and He will forgive you and Allah (SWT) is the possessor of the great bounty | 29 | وَيُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللهُ ذُوْ الفَضْلِ العَظِيْمِ |
| and when those who disbelieve plotted against you to restrain (firm-subdue) you or kill you or expel (drive out) you | وَإِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا لِيُثْبِتُوْكَ أَوْ يَقْتُلُوْكَ أَوْ يُخْرِجُوْكَ | |
| so, they planned, and Allah (SWT) plans and Allah (SWT) is the best of planners | 30 | وَيَمْكُرُوْنَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللهُ وَاللهُ خَيْرُ المَاكِرِيْنَ |
| and when Our signs are recited to them, they say “indeed, we have heard | وَإِذَ تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا قَالُوا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا | |
| if we wish we surely could say like this, this is not but tales of the ancient (past-former)” | 31 | لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَآ إِنْ هَذَآ إِلَّا أَسَاطِيْرُ الأَوَّلِيْنَ |
| and when they said, “O Allah (SWT) if this is the truth from You | وَإِذْ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ هَذَا هُوَ الحَقَّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ | |
| then, rain upon us stones from the sky or bring us a painful punishment” | 32 | فَأَمْطِرْ عَلَيْنَا حِجَارَةً مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ أَوِ ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيْمٍ |
| but Allah (SWT) will not punish them while you are amidst them | وَمَا كَانَ اللهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنْتَ فِيْهِمْ | |
| nor will Allah (SWT) punish them while they seek His forgiveness | 33 | وَمَا كَانَ اللهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ |
| and what is for them that Allah (SWT) should not punish them while they hinder from the sacred mosque | وَمَا لَهُمْ أَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنِ المَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ | |
| and while not they are its guardians? Its guardians are not but the ones who fear | وَمَا كَانُوا أَوْلِيَآءَهُ إِنْ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُ إِلَّا المُتَّقُوْنَ | |
| but most of them do not know | 34 | وَلَاكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
| and not were their prayers in the house except whistling and clapping | وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمْ عِنْدَ البَيْتِ إِلَّا مُكَآءً وَتَصْدِيَةً | |
| so, taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve | 35 | فَذُوْقُوا العَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُوْنَ |
| Surely, those who disbelieve, they spend their wealth to hinder from the path of Allah (SWT) | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا يُنْفِقُوْنَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ | |
| so, they will spend it then it will be for them a regret then they will be overcome | فَسَيُنْفِقُوْنَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُوْنُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُوْنَ | |
| and those who disbelieve, to Hell they will be gathered | 36 | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُوْنَ |
| that Allah (SWT) may distinguish (separate) the bad (wicked) from the good so, He may make the wicked | لِيَمِيْزَ اللهُ الخَبِيْثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ الخَبِيْثَ | |
| some of them over others so He heaps them all and make them in Hell | بَعْضَهُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَيَرْكُمَهُ جَمِيْعًا فَيَجْعَلَهُ فِيْ جَهَنَّمَ | |
| those, they are the losers | 37 | أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
| Say to those who disbelieve, if they cease, it will be forgiven for them what has indeed passed | قُل لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَنْتَهُوا يُغْفَرْ لَهُم مَّا قَدْ سَلَفَ | |
| but if they return then surely the practice of the former will be continued | 38 | وَإِنْ يَعُوْدُوا فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُ الأَوَّلِيْنَ |
| and fight them until not there is oppression and the religion, all of it is for Allah (SWT) | وَقَاتِلُوْهُمْ حَتَّى لَا تَكُوْنَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُوْنَ الدِّيْنُ كُلُّهُ لِلَّهِ | |
| but if they cease then surely, Allah (SWT) is with what they do All-Seeing | 39 | فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْ فَإِنَّ اللهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ |
| and if they turn away then know that Allah is your Protector | وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوا فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ مَوْلَاكُمْ | |
| excellent is the protector and excellent is the helper | 40 | نِعْمَ المَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيْرِ |
| Part 10 / Chapter 8 | Chapter 8 / وَاعْلَمُوآ أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُم | |
| and know that what you obtain as spoils of war of anything then that belonging to Allah (SWT) is one fifth of it | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُم مِّنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ | |
| and for the messenger and for the relatives and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer | وَلِذِي القُرْبَى وَاليَتَامَى وَالمَسَاكِيْنِ وَابنِ السَّبِيْلِ | |
| if you believe in Allah (SWT) and in what We revealed to Our slave, the day of distinction (the criterion-measure) | إِنْ كُنْتُمْ ءَامَنْتُمْ بِاللهِ وَمَآ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ الفُرْقَانِ | |
| the day the two forces met, and Allah (SWT) is upon everything All-Powerful | 41 | يَوْمَ التَقَى الجَمْعَانِ وَاللهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ |
| when you were on the nearer side while they were on the farther side and the caravan | إِذْ أَنْتُمْ بِالعُدْوَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ بِالعُدْوَةِ القُصْوَى وَالرَّكْبُ | |
| was lower than you and if you made an appointment, you would have differed (missed) the promise (appointment) | أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَوْ تَوَاعَدْتُمْ لَاخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي المِيْعَادِ | |
| but that Allah (SWT) may accomplish a matter that was destined | وَلَاكِن لِّيَقْضِيَ اللهُ أَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُوْلًا | |
| that who were to be destroyed were destroyed upon clear evidence and who were to live, lived on clear evidence | لِّيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ وَيَحْيَى مَنْ حَيَّ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ | |
| and surely, Allah (SWT) is indeed, All-Hearing, All-Knowing | 42 | وَإِنَّ اللهَ لَسَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
| when Allah (SWT) showed them to you in your dream as a few and if He showed them to you as many | إِذْ يُرِيكَهُمُ اللهُ فِي مَنَامِكَ قَلِيْلًا وَلَوْ أَرَاكَهُمْ كَثِيْرًا | |
| surely, you would have lost courage and surely, you would have disputed in the matter | لَّفَشِلْتُمْ وَلَتَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي الأَمْرِ | |
| but Allah (SWT) caused you to be at peace, surely, He is All-Knowing of what is in the breasts | 43 | وَلَاكِنَّ اللهَ سَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ عَلِيْمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ |
| and when He showed them to you when you met in your eyes a few | وَإِذْ يُرِيكَمُوهُمْ إِذِ الْتَقَيْتُمْ فِيْ أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيْلًا | |
| and He caused you to seem few in their eyes that Allah (SWT) may accomplish a matter destined | وَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْدِيَ اللهُ أَمْرًا كَانَ مَفْعُوْلًا | |
| and to Allah (SWT) all matters return | 44 | وَإِلَى اللهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُوْرُ |
| O you who believe! when you meet a force (group) then be firm | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيْتُمْ فِئَةً فَاثْبُتُوا | |
| and remember Allah (SWT) much so that you may succeed | 45 | وَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ كَثِيْرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ |
| and obey Allah (SWT) and His messenger and do not dispute lest you get discouraged and your strength will depart | وَأَطِيْعُ اللهَ وَرَسُوْلَهُ وَلَا تَنَازَعُوا فَتَفْشَلُوا وَتَذْهَبَ رِيْحُكُمْ | |
| and be patient, surely, Allah (SWT) is with the patient | 46 | وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ اللهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِيْنَ |
| and do not be like those who came forth from their homes boastfully and showing (off to) the people | وَلَا تَكُوْنُوا كَالَّذِيْنَ خَرَجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ بَطَرًا وَرِئَآءَ النَّاسِ | |
| and they hinder from the path of Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is of what they do All-Encompassing (surrounding) | 47 | وَيَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَاللهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ مُحِيْطٌ |
| and when Satan makes fair seeming to them their deeds and he says, “no one can overcome you today | وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ اليَوْمَ | |
| from the people and truly I am a neighbor for you” but when the two forces came in sight | مِنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَارٌ لَّكُمْ فَلَمَّا تَرَآءَتِ الفِئَتَانِ | |
| he turned away on his heels and said, “Indeed, I am free of you indeed, I see what not | نَكَصَ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيْئٌ مِّنْكُمْ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لَا | |
| you see indeed, I fear Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is severe in retribution (retaliation-punishment)” | 48 | تَرَوْنَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللهَ وَاللهُ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
| when the hypocrites and those who in their hearts is a disease said, | إِذْ يَقُوْلُ المًنَافِقُوْنَ وَالَّذِيْنَ فِي قُلُوْبِهِم مَّرَضٌ | |
| “Their religion deluded these people” and who trusts in Allah (SWT) | غَرَّ هَآؤُلَآءِ دِيْنُهُمْ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ | |
| then truly Allah (SWT) is All-Mighty, All-Wise | 49 | فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ |
| and if you could see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved | وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ يَتَوَفَّى الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا المَلَآئِكَةُ | |
| they strike their faces and their backs, “taste the punishment of the blazing fire” | 50 | يَضْرِبُوْنَ وُجُوْهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ وَذُوْقُوا عَذَابَ الحَرِيْقِ |
| that is because of what your hands sent forth and indeed, Allah (SWT) is not unjust to his slaves | 51 | ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيْدِ |
| like the way of the people of Firaun and those from before them, they disbelieved in the signs of Allah (SWT) | كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ كَفَرُوا بِئَايَاتِ اللهِ | |
| so, Allah (SWT) seized them for their sins, surely Allah (SWT) is All-Strong, severe in retribution | 52 | فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللهُ بِذُنُوْبِهِمْ إِنَّ اللهَ قَوِيٌّ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
| that is because Allah (SWT) did not be the one who changes a favor which He bestowed on a people | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَى قَوْمٍ | |
| until they change what is in themselves and Allah (SWT) is All-Hearing, All-Knowing | 53 | حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَنَّ اللهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
| like the way of the people of Firaun and those from before them, they denied the signs of their Lord | كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ | |
| so, We destroyed them for their sins and We drowned the people of Firaun | فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ بِذُنُوْبِهِمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ | |
| and all were wrongdoers | 54 | وَكُلٌّ كَانُوا ظَالِمِيْنَ |
| Indeed, the worst of the living creatures near Allah (SWT) are those who disbelieve as they do not believe | 55 | إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَآبِّ عِنْدَ اللهِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ |
| those whom you made a treaty with them then they break their pledge every time | الَّذِيْنَ عَاهَدتَّ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ يَنْقُضُوْنَ عَهْدَهُمْ فِي كُلِّ مَرَّةٍ | |
| as they do not fear | 56 | وَهُمْ لَا يَتَّقُوْنَ |
| so, if you gain dominance over them in the war then disperse by them who are behind them so they may remember | 57 | فَإِمَّا تَثْقَفَنَّهُمْ فِالحَرْبِ فَشَرِّدْ بِهِم مَّنْ خَلْفَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُوْنَ |
| and if you fear betrayal from a people then, throw (treaty) back to them (so you) on equal (terms) | وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِنْ قَوْمٍ خِيَانَةً فَانْبِذْ إِلَيْهِمْ عَلَى سَوَآءٍ | |
| surely, Allah (SWT) does not love the traitors | 58 | إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الخَآئِنِيْنَ |
| and those who disbelieve should not think that they can precede (outstrip) indeed, they cannot escape | 59 | وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا سَبَقُوا إِنَّهُمْ لَايُعْجِزُوْنَ |
| and prepare for them whatever you able of force and of tethered horses | وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الخَيْلِ | |
| to terrify therewith the enemy of Allah (SWT) and your enemy and others from besides them | تُرْهِبُوْنَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَءَاخَرِيْنَ دُوْنِهِمْ | |
| not you know them, Allah (SWT) knows them and whatever you spend from anything | لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَهُمُ اللهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ | |
| in the way of Allah (SWT) it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged | 60 | فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ |
| and if they incline to peace then you to it and put your trust in Allah (SWT) | وَإِنْ جَنَحُوا لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ | |
| truly, He, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing | 61 | إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ العَلِيْمُ |
| but if they wish to deceive you then surely, sufficient for you is Allah (SWT) | وَإِن يُرِيْدُوا أَن يَخْدَعُوْكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللهُ | |
| He is the One who supported you with His help and with the believers | 62 | هُوَ الَّذِي أَيَّدَكَ بِنَصْرِهِ وَبِالمُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
| and He joined (inclined) between their hearts, if you spent all that is in the earth | وَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوْبِهِمْ لَوْ أَنْفَقْتَ مَا فِي الأَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا | |
| not could you join between their hearts, but Allah (SWT) joined between them | مَّآ أَلَّفْتَ بَيْنَ قُلُوْبِهِمْ وَلَاكِنَّ اللهَ أَلَّفَ بَيْنَهُمْ | |
| indeed, He is All-Mighty, All-Wise | 63 | إِنَّهُ عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ |
| O prophet! sufficient for you is Allah (SWT) and who follows you from the believers | 64 | يَآ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَسْبُكَ اللهُ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ |
| O prophet! urge the believers to fight | يَآ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَرِّضِ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَى القِتَالِ | |
| If there are twenty steadfast among you, they will overcome two hundred | إِن يَكُن مِّنْكُمْ عِشْرُوْنَ صَابِرُوْنَ يَغْلِبُوا مِاْئَتَيْنِ | |
| and if there are one hundred among you, they will overcome a thousand from those who disbelieve | وَإِن يَكُن مِّنْكُم مِّاْئَةٌ يَغْلِبُوا أَلْفًا مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا | |
| because they are a people who do not understand | 65 | بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ |
| now Allah (SWT) lightened for you, and He knows that among you there is weakness | الْئَانَ خَفَّفَ اللهُ عَنْكُمْ وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ فِيْكُمْ ضَعْفًا | |
| so, if there be a hundred steadfast among you, they will overcome two hundred | فَإِنْ يَكُن مِّنْكُم مِّاْئَةٌ صَابِرَةٌ يَغْلِبُوا مِاْئَتَيْنِ | |
| and if there be a thousand among you, they will overcome two thousand by the permission of Allah (SWT) | وَإِن يَكُن مِّنْكُمْ أَلْفٌ يَغْلِبُوا أَلْفَيْنِ بِإِذْنِ اللهِ | |
| and Allah (SWT) is with the patient (steadfast) | 66 | وَاللهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِيْنَ |
| It is not for a prophet that there should be for him, prisoners of war, until he has battled strenuously in the land | مَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَن يَكُوْنَ لَهُ أَسْرَى حَتَّى يُثْخِنَ فِي الأَرْضِ | |
| you wish for the commodities of the world while Allah (SWT) wishes for the hereafter | تُرِيْدُوْنَ عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَا وَاللهُ يُرِيْدُ الآخِرَةَ | |
| and Allah (SWT) is All-Mighty, All-Wise | 67 | وَالله عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ |
| Had not an ordainment from Allah (SWT) preceded | لَوْلَا كِتَابٌ مِّنَ اللهِ سَبَقَ | |
| surely, a great punishment would have surely touched you for what you took | 68 | لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيْمَآ أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيْمٌ |
| so, eat from what you obtain as spoils of war, lawful, good and fear Allah (SWT) | فَكُلُوا مِمَّا غَنِمْتُمْ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا وَاتَّقُوا اللهَ | |
| surely, Allah (SWT) is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful | 69 | إِنَّ اللهَ غَفُوْرٌ رِّحِيْمٌ |
| O prophet! say to whoever is in your hands of the captives, | يَآ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّمَنْ فِي أَيْدِيْكُم مِّنَ الأَسْرَى | |
| “if Allah (SWT) knows any good in your heart, He will give you better | إِن يَعْلَمِ اللهُ فِي قُلُوْبِكُمْ خَيْرًا يُؤْتِكُمْ خَيْرًا | |
| than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you and Allah (SWT) is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful | 70 | مِّمَّآ أُخِذَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ |
| but if they wish to betray you then certainly, they have betrayed Allah (SWT) from before | وَإِن يُرِيْدُوا خِيَانَتَكَ فَقَدْ خَانُوا اللهَ مِنْ قَبْلُ | |
| so, He gave (you) power over them, and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing, All-Wise | 71 | فَأَمْكَنَ مِنْهُمْ وَاللهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ |
| truly, those who believe and emigrate and struggle with their wealth and their lives | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ | |
| in the way of Allah (SWT) and those who gave shelter and helped, those, some of them | فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَاوَوا وَّنَصَرُوا أُوْلَآئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ | |
| are allies of others but those who believed and did not emigrate, it is not on you for | أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا مَا لَكُم مِّن | |
| their protection in anything until they emigrate and if they seek your help | وَلَايَتِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ حَتَّى يُهَاجِرُوا وَإِنِ اسْتَنْصَرُوْكُمْ | |
| in the religion, then upon you is the help except against a people between you and between them is a treaty | فِي الدِّيْنِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ إِلَّا عَلَى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ مِيْثَاقٌ | |
| and Allah (SWT) is All-Seeing of what you do | 72 | وَاللهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ |
| and those who disbelieve, some of them are allies to others if not you do it | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوْهُ | |
| there will be oppression in the earth and great corruption | 73 | تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيْرٌ |
| and those who believe and emigrate and struggle in the way of Allah (SWT) | وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ | |
| and those who gave shelter and helped, those, they are the believers in truth | وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَاوَوا وَّنَصَرُوا أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ المُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَقًّا | |
| for them is forgiveness and a noble (benevolent) provision | 74 | لَّهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيْمٌ |
| and those who believe from after and emigrated and strove hard with you | وَالَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا مِن بَعْدُ وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا مَعَكًُمْ | |
| then those among you and the people of blood relationship, some of them are nearer to others | فَأُوْلَآئِكَ مِنْكُمْ وَأُوْلُوا الأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ | |
| in the book of Allah (SWT) surely, Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing over everything | 75 | فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ إِنَّ اللهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ |
