Part 30 / Chapter 80 | Chapter 80 / عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُوْنَ | |
He frowned and turned away | 1 | عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى |
when the blind man came to him | 2 | أَنْ جَآءَهُ الأَعْمَى |
and how will you know that hopefully he might purify himself | 3 | وَمَا يُدْرِيْكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى |
or be reminded so the reminder would benefit him | 4 | أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى |
as for who thinks himself self-sufficient (free from need) | 5 | أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى |
to him you attend | 6 | فَأَنْتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى |
although you are not responsible that he does not purify himself | 7 | وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى |
as for who came to you striving (for knowledge) | 8 | وَأَمَّا مَنْ جَآءَكَ يَسْعَى |
while he is in fear (awe of Allah SWT) | 9 | وَهُوَ يَخْشَى |
from him you were distracted | 10 | فَأَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى |
Nay! truly it is a reminder | 11 | كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ |
so, whosoever wills, he remembers it | 12 | فَمَنْ شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُ |
in honored pages | 13 | فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ |
exalted, purified | 14 | مَّرْفُوْعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ |
in the hands of scribes | 15 | بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ |
noble, dutiful | 16 | كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ |
man is killed (destroyed), how ungrateful is he! | 17 | قُتِلَ الإِنْسَانُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُ |
from what thing He created him | 18 | مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ |
from a semen-drop He created him, then He proportioned him | 19 | مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ |
then He made the way easy for him (natural) | 20 | ثُمَّ السَّبِيْلَ يَسَّرَهُ |
then He causes him to die, then He provides for him a grave | 21 | ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ |
then when He wills, He will resurrect him | 22 | ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنْشَرَهُ |
Nay! not yet has he accomplished what He has commanded him | 23 | كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُ |
so let man look at his food | 24 | فَلْيَنْظُرِ الإِنْسَانُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ |
that We poured the water with a pouring | 25 | أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا المَآءَ صَبًّا |
then We split the earth with a splitting | 26 | ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الأَرْضَ شَقًّا |
then We caused grain to grow in it | 27 | فَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيْهَا حَبًّا |
and grapes and greens | 28 | وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا |
and olives and date palms | 29 | وَزَيْتُوْنًا وَنَخْلًا |
and gardens of thick foliage | 30 | وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبًا |
and fruit and grass | 31 | وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًا |
a provision for you and your cattle | 32 | مَتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ |
but when the deafening blast comes | 33 | فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ الصَّآخَّةُ |
the day when man will flee from his brother | 34 | يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ المَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيْهِ |
and his mother and his father | 35 | وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيْهِ |
and his companion (wife) and his children | 36 | وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيْهِ |
for every man among them that day, a matter causing him to be totally occupied | 37 | لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَانٌ يُغْنِيْهِ |
(some) faces that day will be bright | 38 | وُجُوْهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ |
laughing, rejoicing at good news | 39 | ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ |
and (other) faces that day, on them dust | 40 | وَوُجُوْهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ |
darkness will cover them | 41 | تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ |
Those, they are the ungrateful (disbelievers), the wicked | 42 | أُوْلَآئِكَ هُمُ الكَفَرَةُ الفَجَرَةُ |
