Chapter 81
Chapter 81 of the holy Quran with full Arabic text and English translation (Surah At-Takwir – سُوْرَةُ التَّكْوِيْرِ – The overthrowing)
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ
| Part 30 / Chapter 81 | Chapter 81 / عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُوْنَ | |
| When the sun is wrapped (in darkness) | 1 | إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ |
| and when the stars are made to fade away | 2 | وَإِذَا النُّجُوْمُ انْكَدَرَتْ |
| and when the mountains vanish (like a mirage) | 3 | وَإِذَا الجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ |
| and when the full term she camels are left unattended | 4 | وَإِذَا العِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ |
| and when the wild beasts are gathered | 5 | وَإِذَا الوُحُوْشُ حُشِرَتْ |
| and when the seas are made to overflow | 6 | وَإِذَا البِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ |
| and when the souls are paired (with their bodies) | 7 | وَإِذَا النُّفُوْسُ زُوِّجَتْ |
| and when the female (infant) buried alive is asked | 8 | وَإِذَا المَوْءُوْدَةُ سُئِلَتْ |
| for what sin was she killed? | 9 | بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ |
| and when the pages (of deeds) are laid open | 10 | وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ |
| and when the sky is stripped away | 11 | وَإِذَا السَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ |
| and when the hellfire is set ablaze | 12 | وَإِذَا الجَحِيْمُ سُعِّرَتْ |
| and when the garden (Paradise) is brought near | 13 | وَإِذَا الجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ |
| a soul will (then) know what it has brought | 14 | عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ |
| so I swear by the retreating stars | 15 | فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِالخُنَّسِ |
| those that run and disappear | 16 | الْجَوَارِ الكُنَّسِ |
| and by the night when it departs | 17 | وَالَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ |
| and the dawn when it breathes (breaks) | 18 | وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ |
| Indeed, it is surely the word of a noble messenger | 19 | إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُوْلٍ كَرِيْمٍ |
| possessing power from the Possessor of the secure throne | 20 | ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي العَرْشِ مَكِيْنٍ |
| one obeyed and trustworthy | 21 | مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِيْنٍ |
| and not is your companion possessed | 22 | وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُوْنٍ |
| and certainly, he saw him in the clear horizon | 23 | وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِالأُفُقِ المُبِيْنِ |
| and not is he over the (knowledge of the) unseen, a withholder | 24 | وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الغَيْبِ بِضَنِيْنٍ |
| and not is it a word of an outcast devil | 25 | وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيْمٍ |
| so where are you going? (what path are you on?) | 26 | فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُوْنَ |
| this is but a reminder for the creation | 27 | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِيْنَ |
| to who wishes among you to take a straight way | 28 | لِمَنْ شَآءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيْمَ |
| and you cannot will but that Allah (SWT) wills | وَمَا تَشَآءُوْنَ إِلَّآ أَنْ يَشَآءَ اللهُ | |
| the Lord of the creation | 29 | رَبُّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
