Chapter 85
Chapter 85 of the holy Quran with full Arabic text and English translation (Surah Al-Buruj – سُوْرَةُ البُرُوْجِ – The big star)
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Eternally Merciful
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ
| Part 30 / Chapter 85 | Chapter 85 / عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُوْنَ | |
| By the heavens possessing constellations | 1 | وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ البُرُوْجِ |
| and the promised day | 2 | وَاليَوْمِ المَوْعُوْدِ |
| and the one who witnesses and the one witnessed | 3 | وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُوْدٍ |
| Condemned are the makers of the ditch (story of the boy and the king) | 4 | قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُوْدِ |
| the fire possessing the fuel | 5 | النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ |
| when they were sitting by it | 6 | إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُوْدٌ |
| and they, over what they were doing to the believers, were witnesses | 7 | وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالمُؤْمِنِيْنَ شُهُودٌ |
| and they resented them not except that they believed in Allah (SWT), the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy | 8 | وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللهِ العَزِيْزِ الحَمِيْدِ |
| who belonging to Him is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth | الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ | |
| and Allah (SWT) is over all things All-Witnessing | 9 | وَاللهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ شَهِيْدٌ |
| Truly those who persecute the believing men and women | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ فَتَنُوا المُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالمُؤْمِنَاتِ | |
| then they do not repent | ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا | |
| for them is punishment in hell and for them is the punishment of the burning fire | 10 | فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الحَرِيْقِ |
| Truly those who believe and do good deeds | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ | |
| for them are gardens underneath which rivers flow | لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ | |
| that is a great success | 11 | ذَلِكَ الفَوْزُ الكَبِيْرُ |
| Truly the grip of your Lord is indeed strong | 12 | إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ |
| Indeed, it is He who originates and repeats | 13 | إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيْدُ |
| and He is All-Forgiving, All-Loving | 14 | وَهُوَ الغَفُوْرُ الوَدُوْدُ |
| Possessor of the throne, the Glorious | 15 | ذُو العَرْشِ المَجِيْدُ |
| Doer of whatsoever He wills | 16 | فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ |
| Has the story of the soldiers come to you? | 17 | هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيْثُ الجُنُوْدِ |
| Pharaoh and Thamud? | 18 | فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ |
| Nay, those who disbelieve are in denial | 19 | بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيْبٍ |
| but Allah (SWT) is Ever Encompassing over them | 20 | وَاللهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِمْ مُّحِيْطٌ |
| Nay this is a Glorious (honored) Quran | 21 | بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيْدٌ |
| in a guarded Tablet | 22 | فِي لُوحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ |
