الشَّيْطَانِ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – الشَّيْطَانِ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive
االشَّيْطَانُ is the natural state of a definite noun and becomes الشَّيْطَانِ due to: 1) a preposition that precedes it or 2) a possessed noun that precedes it or 3) it’s a noun of dependent declension a) نَعْتٌ / صِفَطٌ adjectives b) التَّوْكِيْدُ emphatic c) المَعْطُوْفٌ conjunction d) البَدَلُ synonym
A being who is not only himself far from the truth but also turns others away from it
who burns with hatred and anger and is lost
also means a leader, rebellious, noisy, evil, troublesome person

| O mankind eat from what is lawful and wholesome in the earth | يَآ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ كُلُوْا مِمَّا فِيْ الأَرْضِ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا | |
| 2-168 | and follow not the footsteps of Satan Surely, he is to you a clear enemy | وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوْا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ |
| O you who believe! Enter into Islam completely | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا ادْخُلُوا فِى السِّلْمِ كَافَّةً | |
| 2-208 | and do not follow the footsteps of Satan, truly he is to you an open enemy | وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ |
| then when she delivered her, she said, “O my Lord indeed I delivered her, a female” | فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنْثَى | |
| and Allah (SWT) is All- knowing of what she delivered | وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ | |
| “And the male is not like the female and indeed I named her Maryam | وَلَيْسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالأُنْثَى وَإِنِّي سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ | |
| 3-36 | and indeed, I seek refuge for her with you and her offspring from Satan the rejected | وَإِنِّي أُعِيْذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ |
| Those who believe, they fight in the way of Allah (SWT) | الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ | |
| and those who disbelieve, they fight in the way of the false deities | وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِي سَبِيْلِ الطَّاغُوْتِ | |
| 4-76 | so, fight the friends of Satan indeed, the plot of Satan is weak | فَقَاتِلُوا أَوْلِيَآءَ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيْفًا |
| O you who believe! | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا | |
| Verily, the intoxicants and the games of chance and the altars and divining arrows | إِنَّمَا الخَمْرُ وَالمَيْسِرُ وَالأَنْصَابُ وَالأَزْلَامُ | |
| are an abomination from the work of Satan | رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ | |
| 5-90 | so, avoid them so that you may be successful | فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ |
| and from the cattle, for burden and for meat, eat from what Allah (SWT) provided you | وَمِنَ الأَنْعَامِ حَمُوْلَةً وَفَرْشًا كُلُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللهُ | |
| 6-142 | and do not follow the footsteps of Satan, indeed, he is for you an open enemy | وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ |
| and if an evil suggestion is whispered to you from Satan, seek refuge with Allah (SWT) | وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللهِ | |
| 7-200 | indeed, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing | إِنَّهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
| Indeed, those who are God-Conscious, when an impulse touches them from Satan | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّقَوا إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَآئِفٌ مِّنَ الشَّيْطَانِ | |
| 7-201 | they remember then they are those who see | تَذَكَّرُوا فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُوْنَ |
| when He covered you with slumber, a security from Him and He sent down upon you water from the heaven (sky) | إِذْ يُغَشِّيْكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكًُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً | |
| to purify you with it and cause to go from you evil (suggestions) of Satan | لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِهِ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطَانِ | |
| 8-11 | and to strengthen (firm) your hearts and make firm with it your feet | وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَى قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ الأَقْدَامَ |
