لَم يَكُنْ
لَم يَكُنْ is a deficient verbal phrase – شِبْهُ الجُمْلَةِ consisting of a jussive, past tense, negative particle and a jussive, present tense, deficient verb
The natural state of the present tense verb is يَكُوْنُ however due to the presence of the jussive particle لَم that precedes it, it’s state changes to لَم يَكُنْ

and perform the pilgrimage and minor pilgrimage for Allah (SWT) but if you are held back | وَأَتِمُّوا الحَجَّ وَالعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ فَإِنْ أُحْصِرْتُمْ | |
then what can be obtained with ease of a sacrificial animal and do not shave your heads until the sacrifice reaches its destination | فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الهَدْيِ وَلَا تَحْلِقُوْا رُءُوْسَكُمْ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الهَدْيُ مَحِلَّهُ | |
and whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment of his head then compensate by fasting | فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيْضًا أَوْ بِهِ أَذًى مِّنْ رَّاسِهِ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِّنْ صِيَامٍ | |
or charity or a sacrificial offering then when you are safe then whoever performs the minor pilgrimage followed by Hajj | أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ فَإِذَآ أَمِنْتُمْ فَمَنْ تَمَتَّعَ بِالعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الحَجَّ | |
then what can be obtained with ease of a sacrificial animal and who cannot find then a fast of three days during Hajj | فَمَا اسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ الهَدْي فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَيَّامٍ فِى الحَجِّ | |
and seven days when you returned (home) that is ten (days) in all | وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ تِلْكَ عَشْرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ | |
This is for him whose family is not present at the Sacred Mosque | ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ لَّمْ يَكُنْ أَهْلُهُ حَاضِرِى المَسْجِدِ الحَرَامِ | |
2-196 | and be mindful of Allah (SWT) and know that Allah (SWT) is severe in punishment | وَاتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ شَدِيْدُ العِقَابِ |
Allah (SWT) instructs you concerning your children belonging to the male like a portion for two females | يُوْصِيْكُمُ اللهُ فِي أَوْلَادِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الأُنْثَيَيْنِ | |
but if there are women, more than two then for them two thirds of what he left | فَإِنْ كُنَّ نِسَآءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَ | |
but if there is only one then for her half and for his parents for each one of them | وَإِنْ كَانَتْ وَاحِدَةً فَلَهَا النِّصْفُ وَلِأَبَوَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا | |
a sixth of what he left if, is for him a child and if not is for him a child | السُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهُ وَلَدٌ | |
and his parents inherit it then for his mother is a third and if are for him siblings then for his mother is a sixth | وَوَرِثَهُ أَبَوَاهُ فَلِأُمِّهِ الثُّلُثُ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ إِخْوَةٌ فَلِأُمِّهِ السُّدُسُ | |
after any will he has made with it or any debt your parents and your children, not you know | مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوْصِى بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَآؤُكُمْ لَا تَدْرُوْنَ | |
4-11 | which of them is nearer to you in benefit an obligation from Allah (SWT) truly Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing, All-Wise | أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعًا فَرِيْضَةً مِّنَ اللهِ إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًا |
and for you is half of what your spouse’s left if not is for them a child | وَلَكُمْ نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ أَزْوَاجُكُمْ إِنْ لَّمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُنَّ وَلَدٌ | |
but if is for them a child then for you is a fourth of what they left | فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌ فَلَكُمُ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْنَ | |
from after any will they made for it or any debt | مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوْصِيْنَ بِهَآ أَوْدَيْنٍ | |
and for them is a fourth of what you left if not is for you a child | وَلَهُنَّ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَّكُمْ وَلَدٌ | |
but if is for you a child, then for them, the eight of what you left | فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌ فَلَهُنَّ الثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ | |
from after any will you made for it or any debt | مِّنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ تُوْصُوْنَ بِهَآ أَوْدَيْنٍ | |
and if is a man whose wealth is to be inherited has no parent or child or women and for him is a brother or a sister | وَإِنْ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُوْرَثُ كَلَالَةً أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ وَلَهُ أَخٌ أَوْ أُخْتٌ | |
then for each one of the two is a sixth but if they are more than that | فَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا السُّدُسُ فَإِنْ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ | |
then they are partners in a third from after any will was made for it or any debt | فَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فِي الثُّلُثِ مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوْصَى بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ | |
4-12 | without harm an ordinance from Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing, Most-Forbearing | غَيْرَ مُضَآرٍ وَصِيَّةً مِّنَ اللهِ وَاللهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَلِيْمٌ |
Indeed, those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe, then disbelieve | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ ءَامَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا | |
4-137 | then increased in disbelief, Allah (SWT) will not forgive them and will not guide them to a way | ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوا كُفْرًا لَّمْ يَكُنِ اللهُ لِيَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ وَلَا لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ سَبِيْلًا |
Indeed, those who disbelieve and did wrong not will Allah (SWT) forgive them | إِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا وَظَلَمُوا لَمْ يَكُنِ اللهُ لِيَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ | |
4-168 | and not He will guide them to a way | وَلَا لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ طَرِيْقًا |
They ask you, say, “Allah (SWT) explains concerning the ones without heirs | يَسْتَفْتُوْنَكَ قُلِ اللهُ يُفْتِيْكُمْ فِي الكَلَالَةِ | |
if a man died and not for him a child but for him a sister then for her is half of what he left | إِنِ امْرُؤٌا هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُ أُخْتٌ فَلَهَا نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ | |
and he, he inherits it if is for her no child, but if there were two females | وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٌ فَإِنْ كَانَتَا اثْنَتَيْنِ | |
then for them both two thirds from what he left | فَلَهُمَا الثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَ | |
and if they were siblings, men and women then for the male like a portion of two females | وَإِنْ كَانُوا إِخْوَةً رِّجَالًا وَنِسَآءً فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الأُنْثَيَيْنِ | |
4-176 | Allah (SWT) makes clear for you lest you stray and Allah (SWT) is over everything All-Knowing | يُبَيِّنُ اللهُ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا وَاللهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ |
6-131 | That is because not is your Lord one who destroys cities for wrongdoing while their people are unaware | ذَلِكَ أَنْ لَّمْ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ القُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا غَافِلُوْنَ |
and surely, We created you then We fashioned you then We said to the angels, “prostrate to Adam (AS)” | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَآئِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ | |
7-11 | so, they prostrated except Iblis, not he was of those who prostrated | فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّآ إِبْلِيْسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِّنَ السَّاجِدِيْنَ |

Not were those who disbelieved from the people of the book | لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ | |
98-1 | and the polytheists to be freed until the clear evidence comes to them | وَالْمُشْرِكِيْنَ مُنْفَكِّيْنَ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ |
112-4 | And not is there to Him anyone equivalent | وَلَم يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ |
