رَبُّ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – رَبُّ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive
الرَّبُّ is the natural state of a definite noun and it is in this state ( مَرْفُوْعٌ) when the noun is: 1) the subject المُبْتَدَأُ or 2) the predicate الخَبَرُ or 3) اسْمُ كَانَ or 4) خَبَرُ إِنَّ or 5) الفَاعِلُ subject of a verb in the active voice or 6) نَائِبُ الفَاعِلِ subject of a verb in the passive voice or 7) it’s a noun of dependent declension a) نَعْتٌ / صِفَطٌ adjectives b) التَّوْكِيْدُ emphatic c) المَعْطُوْفٌ conjunction d) البَدَلُ synonym
الرَّبُّ loses it’s definite article, changing to رَبُّ due to it being a possessed noun
Originator, fosterer, nourisher, completer to perfection
Conveys not only the idea of originator of things, fostering, bringing up and nourishing to perfection, but also that of regulating, completing, accomplishing, cherishing, sustaining and bringing to maturity and evolution from the earliest state to that of the highest perfection

And when your Lord said to the angels “Verily I am going to place a vicegerent on earth,” | وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَآئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الأَرْضِ خَلِيْفَةً | |
they said “will you place in it one who will make mischief therein and shed blood? | قَالُوْا أَتَجْعَلُ فِيْهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيْهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الْدِّمَآءَ | |
while we glorify You with praises and sanctify You” | وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ | |
2-30 | He said “Truly I know that which you do not know” | قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ |
when his Lord tried Ebrahim (AS) with words which he fulfilled | وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ | |
“Verily I will make you a leader for the people” | قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا | |
(Ebrahim AS) said “and from my offspring?” | قَالَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي | |
2-124 | He (Allah SWT) said “My covenant does not reach the wrong-doers” | قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
2-131 | When his Lord said to him “Submit” he said “I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds” | إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ أَسْلِمْ قَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
Say “Do you argue with us regarding Allah (SWT) while He is our Lord and your Lord? | قُلْ أَتُحَآجُّوْنَنَا فِي اللهِ وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ | |
2-139 | So, for us our deeds and for you your deeds and we are sincere to Him | وَلَنَآ أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُخْلِصُوْنَ |
So, her Lord accepted her with an excellent acceptance | فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُوْلٍ حَسَنٍ | |
and caused her to grow an excellent growing and put her in the care of Zachariya | وَأَنْبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا | |
whenever Zachariya entered upon her private chamber, he found her with provision (sustenance) | كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا المِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِنْدَهَا رِزْقًا | |
he said, “O Maryam, from where for you this?” she said “This is from Allah (SWT) | قَالَ يَا مَرْيَمُ أَنَّى لَكِ هَذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ | |
3-37 | Indeed, Allah (SWT) provides who He wishes without measure (account) | إِنَّ اللهَ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ |
Surely, Allah (SWT) is my Lord and your Lord so, worship Him | إِنَّ اللهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ | |
3-51 | this is the straight path | هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيْمٌ |
when you say to the believers, “Is it not sufficient for you | إِذْ تَقُوْلُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ أَلَنْ يَكْفِيَكُمْ | |
3-124 | that your Lord reinforces you with three thousand from angels sent down? | أَنْ يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ بِثَلَاثَةِ ءَالَافٍ مِّنَ المَلَآئِكَةِ مُنْزَلِيْنَ |
Yes indeed, if you are patient and you fear, and they come to you, this from overflowing themselves | بَلَى إِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا وَيَأْتُوْكُمْ مِّنْ فَوْرِهِمْ هَذَا | |

89-6 | Did you not see how your lord dealt with (the people of) Ad | أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ |
89-13 | so, your lord poured on them a scourge (portion) of punishment | فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِم رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ |
As for man, when his Lord tries him by honoring him and favoring him | فَأَمَّا الإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ | |
89-15 | then he says “my Lord has honored me” | فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَكْرَمَنِ |
but when He tries him by straitening his provision | وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ | |
89-16 | then he says “my Lord has humiliated me” | فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَهَانَنِ |
89-22 | and your Lord comes with the angels in rows | وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا |
however, they denied him and killed it | فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَعَقَرُوْهَا | |
91-14 | so, their Lord destroyed them due to their sin and made them equal in destruction | فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِم رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا |
93-3 | Your Lord has neither forsaken you nor hates you | مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَ مَا قَلَى |
93-5 | And very soon your Lord will give you till you are well pleased | وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيْكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى |
96-3 | Read and your Lord is the Most Generous | اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الأَكْرَمُ |
105-1 | Did you not see how your Cherisher dealt with the companions of the elephant? | أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيْلِ |
