رَبِّ
A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – رَبِّ is a noun
A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive
الرَّبُّ is the natural state of a definite noun and becomes الرَّبِّ due to: 1) a preposition that precedes it or 2) a possessed noun that precedes it or 3) it’s a noun of dependent declension a) نَعْتٌ / صِفَطٌ adjectives b) التَّوْكِيْدُ emphatic c) المَعْطُوْفٌ conjunction d) البَدَلُ synonym
الرَّبِّ loses it’s definite article, becoming رَبِّ due to it being a possessed noun
Originator, fosterer, nourisher, completer to perfection
Conveys not only the idea of originator of things, fostering, bringing up and nourishing to perfection, but also that of regulating, completing, accomplishing, cherishing, sustaining and bringing to maturity and evolution from the earliest state to that of the highest perfection

2-5 | They are on guidance from their Nurturer, and they are the successful ones | أُوْلَائِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ |
Verily Allah (SWT) is not averse to set forth a parable of a gnat or what is more than it and as for those who believe | إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوْضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوْا | |
they know that it is the Truth from their Nurturer, however as for those who disbelieve they say “What did Allah intend | فَيَعْلَمُوْنَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ | |
2-26 | by this parable?” By it He misleads many and by it He guides many and He does not mislead by it but the rebellious | بِهَاذَا مَثَلًا يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلَّا الْفَاسِقِيْنَ |

and not We made the companions of the fire, except angels and not We made their number | وَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَآئِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ | |
except a trial for those who disbelieve so that those who were given the book may be convinced | إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا الكِتَابَ | |
and those who believe may increase in faith and those who were given the book and the believers do not doubt | وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا إِيْمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا الكِتَابَ وَالمُؤْمِنُوْنَ | |
and those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers may say “What does Allah (SWT) intend | وَلِيَقُوْلَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالكَافِرُوْنَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ اللهُ | |
by this example?” thus Allah (SWT) leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills | بِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللهُ مَنْ يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَآءُ | |
74-31 | and he knows not the hosts of your Lord but He and this is not except a reminder to mankind | وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُوْدَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ |
75-12 | to your Lord, that day is the comfort (place of rest) | إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ المُسْتَقَرُّ |
75-23 | to its Lord, looking | إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ |
75-30 | to your Lord that day, the drive | إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ المَسَاقُ |
76-10 | “Truly we fear from our Lord a frowning, distressful day” | إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوْسًا قَمْطَرِيْرًا |
76-24 | so be patient with the judgement (wisdom) of your Lord and don’t obey among them one who sins or is ungrateful | فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُوْرًا |
76-25 | remember the name of your Lord morning and evening | وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيْلًا |
76-29 | Truly this is a reminder so, whoever wishes, let him take a path to his Lord | إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيْلً |
78-36 | a reward from your Lord, a gift in account | جَزَآءً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا |
Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them | رَّبِّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا | |
78-37 | the Most-Gracious, not will they have power from Him (to) address | الرَّحْمَانِ لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا |
78-39 | that is the true day so who wills, let him take towards his lord, a return | ذَلِكَ اليَوْمُ الحَقُّ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَئَابًا |
79-19 | “And I will guide you to your Lord, so you may fear” | وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَى |
79-40 | but who feared standing (before) his Lord and restrained his soul from desires (inclinations) | وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الهَوَى |
79-44 | to your Lord is its limits | إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَآ |
82-6 | O man! what has deceived you concerning your Lord? the Most Generous | يَآ أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الكَرِيْمِ |
83-6 | a day man will stand before the Lord of Creation | يَوْمَ يَقُوْمُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
83-15 | Nay! truly they will be veiled from their Lord, that day | كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوْبُوْنَ |
84-2 | and succumbs to its Lord, as is His Right | وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |
84-5 | and succumbs to its Lord, as is His Right | وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |
84-6 | O man! truly you are returning to your Lord, a sure returning then you will be the one who meets Him | يَآ أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيْهِ |
85-12 | Truly the grip of your Lord is indeed strong | إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ |
87-1 | Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most-High | سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى |
87-15 | and he remembers the Name of his Lord and prays | وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى |
As for man, when his Lord tries him by honoring him and favoring him | فَأَمَّا الإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ | |
89-15 | then he says “my Lord has honored me” | فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَكْرَمَنِ |
but when He tries him by straitening his provision | وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ | |
89-16 | then he says “my Lord has humiliated me” | فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَهَانَنِ |
89-28 | Return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing | ارْجِعِى إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً |
92-20 | except seeking the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High | إِلَّا ابْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى |
93-11 | And as for the favor of your Lord, proclaim | وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ |
94-8 | And to your Lord turn | وَإِلَى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ |
96-1 | Read! In the Name of your Nurturer Who has created | اِقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ |
96-8 | Surely to your Lord is the return | إِنَّ إِلَى رّبِّكَ الرُّجْعَى |
97-4 | The Angels and Jibreel (AS) descend therein by the permission of their Lord from every command | تَنَزَّلُ المَلَآئِكَةُ وَالرُّوْحُ فِيْهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ |
Their reward is with their Nurturer, eternal gardens, underneath which rivers flow, they will abide | جَزَاؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِيْنَ | |
98-8 | therein forever, Allah (SWT) pleased with them and they with Him, that is for who feared his Nurturer | فِيْهَا أَبَدًا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوْا عَنْهُ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ |
100-6 | Truly, man is extremely ungrateful to his Nurturer | إِنَّ الإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُوْدٌ |
108-2 | So, pray to your Nurturer and sacrifice | فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ |
110-3 | Then glorify the praises of your Nurturer and seek His forgiveness, truly He is oft returning | فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا |
113-1 | Say, I seek refuge with the Nurturer of the dawn | قُلْ أَعُوُذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ |
114-1 | Say, I seek refuge with the Nurturer of mankind | قُلْ أَعُوُذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ |
