رَبِّ

A word in the Arabic language will either be 1) a verb or 2) a noun or 3) a particle – رَبِّ is a noun

A noun may either be 1) Definite or indefinite 2) Masculine or feminine 3) Singular, dual or plural 4) Nominative, accusative or genitive

الرَّبُّ is the natural state of a definite noun and becomes الرَّبِّ due to: 1) a preposition that precedes it or 2) a possessed noun that precedes it or 3) it’s a noun of dependent declension a) نَعْتٌ / صِفَطٌ adjectives b) التَّوْكِيْدُ emphatic c) المَعْطُوْفٌ conjunction d) البَدَلُ synonym

الرَّبِّ loses it’s definite article, becoming رَبِّ due to it being a possessed noun

Originator, fosterer, nourisher, completer to perfection

Conveys not only the idea of originator of things, fostering, bringing up and nourishing to perfection, but also that of regulating, completing, accomplishing, cherishing, sustaining and bringing to maturity and evolution from the earliest state to that of the highest perfection

Verse
1-2Every form of praise and thanks belongs to Allah, the Nurturer of all that existsالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
2-5They are on guidance from their Nurturer, and they are the successful onesأُوْلَائِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ
Verily Allah (SWT) is not averse to set forth a parable of a gnat or what is more than it and as for those who believeإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوْضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوْا
they know that it is the Truth from their Nurturer, however as for those who disbelieve they say “What did Allah intendفَيَعْلَمُوْنَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ
2-26by this parable?” By it He misleads many and by it He guides many and He does not mislead by it but the rebelliousبِهَاذَا مَثَلًا يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلَّا الْفَاسِقِيْنَ

73-8and remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a devotionوَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيْلًا
73-19
74-7and for your Lord, endure (be patient)وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ
and not We made the companions of the fire, except angels and not We made their numberوَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَآئِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ
except a trial for those who disbelieve so that those who were given the book may be convincedإِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا الكِتَابَ
and those who believe may increase in faith and those who were given the book and the believers do not doubtوَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا إِيْمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا الكِتَابَ وَالمُؤْمِنُوْنَ
and those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers may say “What does Allah (SWT) intendوَلِيَقُوْلَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالكَافِرُوْنَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ اللهُ
by this example?” thus Allah (SWT) leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He willsبِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللهُ مَنْ يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَآءُ
74-31and he knows not the hosts of your Lord but He and this is not except a reminder to mankindوَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُوْدَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ
75-12to your Lord, that day is the comfort (place of rest)إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ المُسْتَقَرُّ
75-23to its Lord, lookingإِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75-30to your Lord that day, the driveإِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ المَسَاقُ
76-10“Truly we fear from our Lord a frowning, distressful day”إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوْسًا قَمْطَرِيْرًا
76-24so be patient with the judgement (wisdom) of your Lord and don’t obey among them one who sins or is ungratefulفَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُوْرًا
76-25remember the name of your Lord morning and eveningوَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيْلًا
76-29Truly this is a reminder so, whoever wishes, let him take a path to his Lordإِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيْلً
78-36a reward from your Lord, a gift in accountجَزَآءً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا
Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between themرَّبِّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا
78-37the Most-Gracious, not will they have power from Him (to) addressالرَّحْمَانِ لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
78-39that is the true day so who wills, let him take towards his lord, a returnذَلِكَ اليَوْمُ الحَقُّ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَئَابًا
79-19“And I will guide you to your Lord, so you may fear”وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَى
79-40but who feared standing (before) his Lord and restrained his soul from desires (inclinations)وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الهَوَى
79-44to your Lord is its limitsإِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَآ
82-6O man! what has deceived you concerning your Lord? the Most Generousيَآ أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الكَرِيْمِ
83-6a day man will stand before the Lord of Creationيَوْمَ يَقُوْمُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ
83-15Nay! truly they will be veiled from their Lord, that dayكَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوْبُوْنَ
84-2and succumbs to its Lord, as is His Rightوَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84-5and succumbs to its Lord, as is His Rightوَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84-6O man! truly you are returning to your Lord, a sure returning then you will be the one who meets Himيَآ أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيْهِ
85-12Truly the grip of your Lord is indeed strongإِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ
87-1Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most-Highسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى
87-15and he remembers the Name of his Lord and praysوَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
As for man, when his Lord tries him by honoring him and favoring himفَأَمَّا الإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ
89-15then he says “my Lord has honored me”فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَكْرَمَنِ
but when He tries him by straitening his provisionوَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ
89-16then he says “my Lord has humiliated me”فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّى أَهَانَنِ
89-28Return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasingارْجِعِى إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً
92-20except seeking the Countenance of his Lord, the Most Highإِلَّا ابْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى
93-11And as for the favor of your Lord, proclaimوَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
94-8And to your Lord turnوَإِلَى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ
96-1Read! In the Name of your Nurturer Who has createdاِقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
96-8Surely to your Lord is the returnإِنَّ إِلَى رّبِّكَ الرُّجْعَى
97-4The Angels and Jibreel (AS) descend therein by the permission of their Lord from every commandتَنَزَّلُ المَلَآئِكَةُ وَالرُّوْحُ فِيْهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
Their reward is with their Nurturer, eternal gardens, underneath which rivers flow, they will abideجَزَاؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِيْنَ
98-8therein forever, Allah (SWT) pleased with them and they with Him, that is for who feared his Nurturerفِيْهَا أَبَدًا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوْا عَنْهُ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ
100-6Truly, man is extremely ungrateful to his Nurturerإِنَّ الإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُوْدٌ
108-2So, pray to your Nurturer and sacrificeفَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ
110-3Then glorify the praises of your Nurturer and seek His forgiveness, truly He is oft returningفَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا
113-1Say, I seek refuge with the Nurturer of the dawnقُلْ أَعُوُذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
114-1Say, I seek refuge with the Nurturer of mankindقُلْ أَعُوُذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
