Particle أَنْ
Most of the words in the Arabic language are derived from a three-letter root which represents a core meaning or concept, however the particle أَنْ is built on a fixed form

| Verily Allah is not averse to set forth a parable of a gnat or what is more than it and as for the believers | إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوْضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوْا | |
| they know that it is the Truth from their Lord but as for who disbelieve they say “What did Allah intend by | فَيَعْلَمُوْنَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ | |
| 2-26 | this parable?” By it He misleads many and by it He guides many and not He mislead by it but the rebellious | بِهَاذَا مَثَلًا يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيْرًا وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلَّا الْفَاسِقِيْنَ |
| Those who break Allah’s covenant after ratifying it and sever what Allah has ordered to be joined | الَّذِيْنَ يَنْقُضُوْنَ عَهْدَ اللهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مِيْثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُوْنَ مَا أَمَرَ اللهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوْصَلَ | |
| 2-27 | and do mischief on earth. Them, they are the losers | وَيُفْسِدُوْنَ فِي الأَرْضِ أُوْلَائِكَ هُمُ الخَاسِرُوْنَ |
| And when Musa said to his people “Surely Allah commands you to sacrifice a cow” | وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوْسَى لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَذْبَحُوْا بَقَرَةً | |
| They said “Do you take us for fools? | قَالُوْا أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوًا | |
| 2-67 | He said: “I seek refuge in Allah that I be among the ignorant” | قَالَ أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ أَنْ أَكُوْنَ مِنَ الجَاهِلِيْنَ |
| Do you covet that they will believe in your religion? | أَفَتَطْمَعُوْنَ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا لَكُمْ | |
| in spite of the fact that a party among them (used to) hear the Word of Allah (SWT) | وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُوْنَ كَلَامَ اللهِ | |
| 2-75 | then they change it after having understood it while they know | ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُوْنَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوْهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُوْنَ |
| Miserable is the price they have sold their souls for that they disbelieve in what Allah (SWT) sent down | بِئْسَمَا اشْتَرَوْا بِهِ أَنْفُسَهُمْ أَنْ يَكْفُرُوْا بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ | |
| grudging that Allah (SWT) sending down His Grace to whom He Wills of His servants | بَغْيًا أَنْ يُنَزِّلَ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ | |
| 2-90 | so, they have drawn (earned) wrath upon wrath and for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment | فَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ عَلَى غَضَبٍ وَلِلْكَافِرِيْنَ عَذَابٌ مُّهِيْنٌ |
| And surely you will find them the greediest of mankind for life, greedier than the polytheists | وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِيْنَ أَشْرَكُوْا | |
| Each one of them loves if he could be granted a life of a thousand years | يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ | |
| but it will not remove him from the punishment, that grant of such a life | وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَهْزِحِهِ مِنَ العَذَابِ أَنْ يُعَمَّرَ | |
| 2-96 | and Allah (SWT) is All-Seeing of what they do | وَاللهُ بَصِيْرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ |
| Neither those who disbelieve from the people of the book, nor the polytheists wish | مَّا يَوَدُّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ أَهْلِ الكِتَابِ وَلَا المُشْرِكِيْنَ | |
| that any good be sent down to you from your Lord | أَنْ يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ | |
| but Allah (SWT) chooses for His Mercy who He wills | وَاللهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَآءُ | |
| 2-105 | and Allah (SWT) is the Possessor of Great Bounty | وَاللهُ ذُوْ الفَضْلِ العَظِيْمِ |
| Or do you wish to ask your Messenger as Musa (AS) was asked before | أَمْ تُرِيْدُوْنَ أَنْ تَسْئَلُوْا رَسُوْلَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوْسَى مِنْ قَبْلُ | |
| 2-108 | so, who changes faith for disbelieve has truly strayed from the even way | وَمَنْ يَتَبَدَّلِ الكُفْرَ بِالإِيْمَانِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيْلِ |

| 74-52 | nay, every person among them desires that he be given pages, spread out | بَلْ يُرِيْدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَنْ يُؤْتَى صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً |
| 74-56 | and not will they remember it, except that Allah (SWT) wishes, He is worthy to fear and worthy to forgive | وَمَا يَذْكُرُوْنَ إِلَّآ أَنْ يَشَآءُ اللهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ |
| 75-3 | Does man think that not We will assemble his bones? | أَيَحْسَبُ الإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ |
| 75-4 | of course, We have the power to restore his fingertips | بَلَى قَادِرِيٍْنَ عَلَى أَنْ نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ |
| 75-25 | expecting to be done to it impoverishing (ruining-calamitous-catastrophic) | تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ |
| 75-36 | does man think that he will be left neglected | أَيَحْسَبُ الإِنْسَانُ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ سُدًى |
| 75-40 | Does He who can do that, not have the power to give life to the dead? | أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ المَوْتَى |
| 76-30 | and not can you wish except that Allah (SWT) Wishes truly Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing, All-Wise | وَمَا تَشَآءُوْنَ إِلَّآ أَنْ يَشَآءَ اللهُ إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًا |
| 79-18 | and say, “would you (like) to purify yourself?” | فَقُلْ هَلْ لَّكَ إِلَى أَنْ تَزَكَّى |
| 80-2 | that the blind man came to him | أَنْ جَآءَهُ الأَعْمَى |
| 80-7 | although you are not responsible that he does not purify himself | وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى |
| 81-28 | to whom wishes among you to take a straight way | لِمَنْ شَآءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيْمَ |
| 81-29 | and not you can will, except that Allah (SWT) wills, the Lord of the creation | وَمَا تَشَآءُوْنَ إِلَّآ أَنْ يَشَآءَ اللهُ رَبُّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
| 84-14 | Verily, he thought that he would not return (to Us) | إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ |
| 85-8 | and they resented them not except that they believed in Allah (SWT), the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy | وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ |
| 90-5 | Does he think that none can overwhelm him? | أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ |
| 90-7 | Does he think that none did see him? | أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ |
