| bearing glad tidings and as warner’s and He sent down with them the Book in truth | مُبَشِّرِيْنَ وَمُنْذِرِيْنَ وَأَنْزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الكِتَابَ بِالحَقِّ | |
| to judge between people in matters wherein they differed | لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ | |
| and no one differed in it except those who were given it after clear signs came to them | وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ أُوتُوهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ البَيِّنَاتُ | |
| out of jealousy among themselves and Allah (SWT) guided those who believed | بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ فَهَدَى اللهُ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا | |
| from what they differed in it to the truth by His Permission | لِمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ مِنَ الحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ | |

| Did not you see to the chiefs from the children of Israel from after Moosa (AS) | أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى المَلَإِ مِن بَنِي إِسْرَآئِيْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوْسَى | |
| when they said to a prophet of theirs, “Raise for us a king, we may fight in the way of Allah (SWT)?” | إِذْ قَالُوا لِنَبِيٍّ لَّهُمُ ابْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكًا نُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ | |
| He said, “Would you perhaps, if prescribed for you fighting, that not you fight?” | قَالَ هَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ القِتَالُ أَلَّا تُقَاتِلُوا | |
| they said, “and what for us that not we fight in the way of Allah (SWT) while indeed, we have been driven from | قَالُوا وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَقَدْ أُخْرِجْنَا مِنْ | |
| our homes and our children?” Yet, when the fighting was prescribed upon them, they turned away | دِيَارِنَا وَأَبْنَآئِنَا فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ القِتَالُ تَوَلَّوا | |
| 2-246 | except a few among them and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing of the wrongdoers | إِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّنْهُمْ وَاللهُ عَلِيْمٌ بِالظَّالِمِيْنَ |
| and their prophet said to them, “Indeed, Allah (SWT) certainly raised for you Talut (Saul) as king” | وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوْتَ مَلِكًا | |
| they said, “how the kingship be for him over us while we are more entitled to kingship than him | قَالُوا أَنَّى يَكُوْنُ لَهُ المُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالمُلْكِ مِنْهُ | |
| and not he has been given abundance of wealth?” He said, “Indeed, Allah chose him over you | وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ المَالِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ | |
| and increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique | وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي العِلْمِ وَالجِسْمِ | |
| 2-247 | and Allah (SWT) gives His kingdom to whom He wills and Allah (SWT) is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing” | وَاللهُ يُؤْتِي مُلْكَهُ مَنْ يَشَآءُ وَاللهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌ |
| or like the one who passed by a township, and it overturned on its roofs | أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوْشِهَا | |
| he said, “how will Allah (SWT) give life to this after its death?” so, Allah (SWT) caused him to die | قَالَ أَنَّى يُحْيِى هَذِهِ اللهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا فَأَمَاتَهُ اللهُ | |
| for a hundred years then He raised him, He said, “How long you remained?” | مِاْئَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ | |
| he said, ” I remained (dead) for a day or part of a day” | قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ | |
| he said, “Nay! you remained for a hundred years | قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِاْئَةَ عَامٍ | |
| then look at your food and your drink, not a change through time | فَانْظُرْ إِلَى طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ | |
| and look at your donkey and let Us (We) make you a sign for the people | وَانْظُرْ إِلَى حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ ءَايَةً لِلنَّاسِ | |
| and look to the bones how We raise them then We clothe them with flesh” | وَانْظُرْ إِلَى العِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنْشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوْهَا لَحْمًا | |
