| And indeed, We gave Musa the book and followed it with a succession of Messengers | وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الكِتَابَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ | |
| And We gave Isa, son of Mary clear signs and supported him with the Pure Spirit | وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيْسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ البَيِّنَاتِ وَأَيَّدْنَاهُ بِرُوْحِ القُدُسِ | |
| Is it that whenever there came to you a messenger with what you yourselves desired not you grew arrogant? | أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَى أَنْفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ | |
| 2-87 | So, some you denied and some you killed | فَفَرِيْقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيْقًا تَقْتُلُوْنَ |
| Never will the Jews be pleased with you nor the Christians till you follow their religion | وَلَنْ تَرْضَى عَنْكَ اليَهُوْدُ وَلَا النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ | |
| Say the guidance of Allah (SWT), it is the guidance | قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللهِ هُوَ الهُدى | |
| and if you follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge | وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ بَعْدَ الَّذِي جَآءَكَ مِنَ العِلْمِ | |
| 2-120 | there will be no friend or helper for you against Allah (SWT) | مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيْرٍ |
| Even if you come to those who were given the book with all the signs | وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوْا الكِتَابَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٍ | |
| they will not follow your direction nor are you going to follow their direction | مَّا تَبِعُوْا قِبْلَتَكَ وَمَآ أَنْتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ | |
| and they will not follow each other’s direction | وَمَا بَعْضُهُمْ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ | |
| and verily if you followed their desires after what came to you of knowledge | وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَآئَكَ مِنَ العِلْمِ | |
| 2-145 | truly you will be of the wrongdoers | إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ |
| O you who believe! be standing firm for justice, witnesses to Allah (SWT) | يَآ أَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا كُوْنُوا قَوَّامِيْنَ بَالقِسْطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ | |
| even if against yourselves or the parents and the relatives, if he be rich or poor | وَلَوْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الوَالِدَيْنِ وَالأَقْرَبِيْنَ إِنْ يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيْرًا | |
| for Allah (SWT) is nearer to both of them so don’t follow the desire that you be just | فَاللهُ أَوْلَى بِهِمَا فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا الهَوَى أَنْ تَعْدِلُوا | |
| 4-135 | and if you distort or turn away then indeed, Allah (SWT) is over what you do All-Aware | وَإِنْ تَلْوُوا أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا فَإِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرًا |
| And We sent down to you the Book in truth | وَأَنْزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ الكِتَابَ بِالحَقِّ | |
| confirming what is between your hands of the Book and a guardian over it | مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ | |
| So, judge among them by what Allah (SWT) sent down (revealed) | فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَآ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ | |
| and follow not their vain desires, when the truth has come to you | وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ الحَقِّ | |
| For each among you We have made a Law and a clear way | لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنْكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا | |
| Had Allah (SWT) willed, He could have certainly made you one nation | وَلَوْ شَآءَ اللهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً | |
| but to test you in what He gave you | وَلَاكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَآ ءَاتَاكُمْ | |
| So, race to the good | فَاسْتَبِقُوا الخَيْرَاتِ | |
| to Allah (SWT) you will all return | إِلَى اللهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيْعًا | |
| 5-48 | then, He will inform you about that in which you used to differ | فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُوْنَ |
| So, judge among them by what Allah (SWT) has revealed | وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَآ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ | |
| and do not follow their vain desires | وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ | |
| and beware of them lest they tempt you away from a part of that which Allah (SWT) has sent down to you | وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوكَ عَن بَعْضِ مَآ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ إِلَيْكَ | |
| and if they turn away then know that Allah (SWT) only wishes to punish them for some of their sins | فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوا فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيْدُ اللهُ أَنْ يُصِيْبَهُمْ بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوْبِهِمْ | |
| 5-49 | And truly many of the people are rebellious (defiantly disobedient) | وَإِنَّ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ لَفَاسِقُوْنَ |
| Verily, We took the covenant of the Children of Israel | لَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَآئِيْلَ | |
| and We sent to them Messengers | وَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلً | |
| Whenever there came to them a Messenger with what they themselves desired not | كُلَّمَا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَى أَنْفُسُهُمْ | |
| 5-70 | a group they denied and a group they killed | فَرِيْقًا كَذَّبُوا وَفَرِيْقًا يَقْتُلُوْنَ |
| Say, O people of the Book! | قُلْ يَآ أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ | |
| Do not exceed in your religion other than the truth | لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِيْنِكُمْ غَيْرَ الحَقِّ | |
| and do not follow desires of people that have certainly gone astray from before | وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا أَهْوَآءَ قَوْمٍ قَدْ ضَلُّوا مِنْ قَبْلُ | |
| 5-77 | and they misled many as they have strayed from the right path | وَأَضَلُّوا كَثِيْرًا وَضَلُّوا عَنْ سَوَآءِ السَّبِيْلِ |
| Say, “Truly I have been forbidden to worship those you call from other than Allah (SWT)” | قُلْ إِنِّي نُهِيْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ | |
| say, “I will not follow your vain desires” | قُلْ لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَآءَكُمْ | |
| 6-56 | “Certainly, I will go astray then, and will not be from the guided ones” | قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا وَمَآ أَنَا مِنَ المُهْتَدِيْنَ |
| Say, “Should we call from other than Allah (SWT) who cannot benefit us nor harm us | قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا | |
| and we turn back on our heels after when Allah (SWT) guided us | وَنُرَدُّ عَلَى أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَانَا اللهُ | |
| like the one who the devils enticed him in the earth into confusion | كَالَّذِيْ اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاطِيْنُ فِي الأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ | |
| He has companions, they call him to the guidance, “Come to us” | لَهُ أَصْحَابٌ يَدْعُوْنَهُ إِلَى الهُدَى ائْتِنَا | |
| Say, “Truly the guidance of Allah (SWT), It is the guidance | قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللهِ هُوَ الهُدَى | |
| 6-71 | and we’ve been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds | وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِيْنَ |
| and what for you that not you eat from what the name of Allah (SWT) is mentioned on it | وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ | |
| when indeed, He has explained in detail to you what He forbid to you except what you are compelled to it | وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُمْ مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا اضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ | |
| and truly most, surely lead astray by their desires, without knowledge | وَإِنَّ كَثِيْرًا لَّيُضِلُّوْنَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ | |
| 6-119 | truly your Lord, He knows best of the transgressors | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالمُعْتَدِيْنَ |
| Say, “bring forward your witnesses who testified that Allah (SWT) prohibited (forbade) this” | قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يَشْهَدُوْنَ أَنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ هَذَا | |
| then if they testify then do not testify with them | فَإِنْ شَهِدُوا فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ | |
| and do not follow the desires of those who denied Our signs and who do not believe in the hereafter | وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا وَالَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالآخِرَةِ | |
| 6-150 | and they ascribe equals with their Lord | وَهُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُوْنَ |
| and if We wished We certainly could have raised him with these, but he adhered to the earth | وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَاكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ | |
| and he followed his desires so, his example is like the example of the dog | وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الكَلْبِ | |
| if you burden it, he lolls out his tongue or if you leave it, he lolls out his tongue | إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ | |
| 7-176 | that is the example of the people who denied Our signs so narrate the story so that they may ponder (reflect) | ذّلِكَ مَثَلُ القَوْمِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايَاتِنَا فَاقْصُصِ القَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَقَّرُوْنَ |
