لَم تَرَ

لَم تَرَ is a verbal sentence (الجُمْلَةُ الفِعْلِيَّةُ) consisting of a jussive, past tense negative particle and a jussive, present tense verb

The natural state of the present tense verb is تَرَي however due to the presence of the jussive particle لَم that precedes it, it’s  state changes to لَم تَرَ

Verse
Did you not see to those, they come forth from their homes, while they in thousands in fear ofأَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ خَرَجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَهُمْ أُلُوْفٌ حَذَرَ
death? then Allah (SWT) said to them, “Die” then He gave them life indeed, Allah (SWT)المَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ اللهُ مُوْتُوا ثُمَّ أَحْيَاهُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ
2-243certainly, possesses bounty for mankind but most of the people are not gratefulلَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَاكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ
Did not you see to the chiefs from the children of Israel from after Moosa (AS)أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى المَلَإِ مِن بَنِي إِسْرَآئِيْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوْسَى
when they said to a prophet of theirs, “Raise for us a king, we may fight in the way of Allah (SWT)?”إِذْ قَالُوا لِنَبِيٍّ لَّهُمُ ابْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكًا نُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ
He said, “Would you perhaps, if prescribed for you fighting, that not you fight?”قَالَ هَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ القِتَالُ أَلَّا تُقَاتِلُوا
they said, “and what for us that not we fight in the way of Allah (SWT) while indeed, we have been driven fromقَالُوا وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَقَدْ أُخْرِجْنَا مِنْ
our homes and our children?” Yet, when the fighting was prescribed upon them, they turned awayدِيَارِنَا وَأَبْنَآئِنَا فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ القِتَالُ تَوَلَّوا
2-246except a few among them and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing of the wrongdoersإِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّنْهُمْ وَاللهُ عَلِيْمٌ بِالظَّالِمِيْنَ
Did not you see to those who argued with Ebrahim (AS) concerning his Lord that Allah (SWT) gave himأَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِي حَآجَّ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ فِى رَبِّهِ أَنْ ءَاتَيْنَاهُ اللهُ
the kingdom? when Ebrahim (AS) said, “My Lord is He who grants life and causes death”المُلْكَ إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيْمُ رَبِّيَ الَّذِى يُحْيِى وَيُمِيْتُ
he said, “I give life and I cause death”قَالَ أَنَاْ أُحْيِى وَأُمِيْتُ
Ebrahim (AS) said, “then indeed, Allah (SWT) brings up the sun (comes) from the eastقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيْمُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَأْتِى بِالشَّمْسِ مِنَ المَشْرِقِ
so, you bring it from the west”فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ المَغْرِبِ
2-258so, the one who disbelieved became dumbfounded and Allah (SWT) guides not the wrong-doing peopleفَبُهِتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ وَاللهُ لَا يَهْدِى القَوْمَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ
Have you not seen to those who were given a portion from the book?أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ الكِتَابِ
they are being invited to the book of Allah (SWT) to settle their disputesيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ
3-23then a party among them turn away and they are averseثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّى فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُوْنَ
Did you not see to those who were given a portion of the bookأَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ الكِتَابِ
4-44purchasing error and they wish that you stray from the way?يَشْتَرُوْنَ الضَّلَالَةَ وَيُرِيْدُوْنَ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا السَّبِيْلَ
did you not see to those who ascribe purity to themselves?أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ يُزَكُّوْنَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ
4-49nay, Allah (SWT) purifies whom He wishes and not He wrongs even as much as a hair on a date seedبَلِ اللهُ يُزَكِّي مَن يَشآءُ وَلَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ فَتِيْلًا
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the book?أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ الكِتَابِ
They believe in superstition and false deities, and they say of those who disbelieveيُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالجِبْتِ وَالطَّاغُوْتِ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ لِلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا
4-51“These are better guided than those who believe in the way”هَآؤُلآءِ أَهْدَى مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ ءَامَنُوا سَبِيْلًا
Did you not see to those who claim that they believe in what was revealed to youأَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ يَزْعُمُوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا بِمَآ أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ
and what was revealed from before you? they wish to go for judgement to false deitiesوَمَآ أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ يُرِيْدُوْنَ أَنْ يَتَحَاكَمُوا إِلَى الطَّاغُوْتِ
and surely, they were ordered to disbelieve (reject) in itوَقَدْ أُمِرُوا أَنْ يَكْفُرُوا بِهِ
4-60and Satan wishes to mislead them a distant misleadingوَيُرِيْدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُمْ ضَلَالًا بَعِيْدًا
Did you not see to those, it was said to them, “Restrain (withhold) your handsأَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ
and establish (stand up) prayer and give the obligatory tax?” then when the fighting was ordained on themوَأَقِيْمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَءَاتُوا الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ القِتَالُ
behold (suddenly) a group among them fear men (people) like the fear of Allah (SWT) or greater, fearإِذَا فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً
and they said, “Our Lord! Why You write (prescribe-ordain) for us the fighting?وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا القِتَالَ
Why not You delay for us to a near term”لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنَآ إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍ
Say, “Enjoyment of the world is little and the hereafter is better for who fearsقُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيْلٌ وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَى
4-77and not you will be wronged a hair on a date seed”وَلَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ فَتِيْلًا
