ثَمُوْدُ

Name of an ancient tribe which lived in the western parts of Arabia. Thamud is known after a grandson of Aram, the grandson of Noah. They lived shortly before the time of Ismail. Their Prophet was Salih. The tribe flourished more then two hundred years after ‘Ad and their territory extended from Adan in the south to Syria in the north.
